Ronnie Cedano hit that flair down the right field line for a double. He then threw his arms into the air after reaching second base. It came back to haunt him in the ninth. It ain't over til it is over, Ronnie. Keep your eye on the ball and do not get so cocky. This is making me very nervous. Go Cubs and White Sox.

Awesome fielding, Ronnie. Good Christ.

And yet again, a phenomenal outing from the starter goes completely wasted.

The rest of the team are choking like dogs. Woody might as well join them.

Their singing now: BLOW CUBS BLOW ; BLOW CUBS BLOW ; HEY CHICAGO WHAT DO YOU SAY, THE CUBS ARE GOING TO BLOW TODAY

I will say in defense of Cedeno that the ball did come close to the lip of the grass and infield dirt but come on, make the play and the game is over with a "W". Of course, once again, the Cubs had plenty of opportunities to break the game wide open throughout but did nto do the job. Let see, now the Cubs cannot even be a team that has a guy who has FIFTEEN losses on the year. When they are staying at home in mid-October, they will only have themselves to blame. Way to ruin an already bad fishing day. Tanks for nuttin'.

Kerry looked like a nervous wreck! Jeez.. this is what, your 10th year in the majors and you look like a scared rookie out there.. and vs the hapless reds no less. How on earth are you going to deal with playoff pressure?

Wood must be spending too much time around Wuertz and Howry!

Gee! Edmonds falls asleep, Cedeno is bad again, Wood can't save (with the help of poor defenseand bad umpire!). Cubs lose again, but Brewers do to. Let's go and sweep those dreadful Cardinals!

Has anyone mentioned it to Kerry that we are in a divisional race? Does he practice throwing between outings? How hard is it to get the ball over the plate for a 'major league' pitcher ... sheesh.

I am going to cut Ronny Cedeno a little slack on this one. That ball took a really bad hop. If you look at the replay, the second hop hit the lip of the grass and nearly bounced over his glove.

But walks do hurt. They really hurt.

I hope today was the low point of the last two weeks. Lou needs to wake this team from its slumber now. With two starters hurt & most of the remaining games on the road against contenders, they are going to really have to earn it. On a positive note, if they are going to fold, much better to do it before the playoffs rather than two outs away from the WS. I don't need to watch that replay again.

If i'm Lou I call Ronnie into the office and give him his ticket to Iowa. I'm tired of this sorry *ss excuse for a shortstop. Lou should tell him that these kind of mistakes can not be tolerated in the middle of a playoff race. True Kerry didn't have his best stuff (again) but he did give Ronnie an easy chance to end the game and go another game up on the Brewers.

Once again, a premature, classless Cubbie celebration comes back to bite the team in the rear. Ronnie Cedeno looked like a fool after sliding into second, and he looks even stupider after blowing the game for his fellow me-first teammates. And Kerry's upset that the Reds celebrated after actually winning the game? At least the guy ran to first instead of just standing there watching his single.

I was just a wee kid, but the current cub slump reminds me of the stories my dad spoke of regarding the collapse of 1969. With heathy pitching, I don't see that happening this year. But it doesn't appear that the starting rotation is all that healthy ... once again. And the bats????

Cubs will lose all three games in St Louis and all three games in Houston. Whe they start the 3-game series with the Brewers in Chicago, they will be tied for first place. This past week has taken all the wind out the sails for many Cub fans, myself included. How stupid we all must really be if we thought this season was going to be a special one. IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN, so the sign says. Yes, the Cubs will, once again, disappoint their loyal fans.

Does anyone know when the next flight to Japan is leaving? Fukudome needs to know how fast to pack his luggage. He is the worst excuse for a major league hitter I have ever seen.

Maybe Lou should make the team take a smelly bus ride to St Louis. That is what I would have made them do after this sorry weekend. No shower after today's game, just GET ON THE DAMN BUS! You are going to shower at the nearest truck stop.
