From a strictly practical standpoint, James had to get in some sort of 'crouch' to pull off the picture--he's 6'9, nearly a foot taller than Gisele.

The debate can go on and on. I just feel sorry for the person who looks as this photo and does anything but find it interesting and him or her to have amazing bodies. To constantly look at things and see the glass half full would be a really crummy way to go through life. Jemele Hill is either a perfect example or simply looking for every single angle to make an issue of things for the benefit of her career. If it's the first I feel sorry for her, if it's the latter, she's a genius.

Give me a break. There are plenty of movies and television shows depicting black characters as heroes and successful professionals.

The sad truth is that the new definition of racism (racism used to be defined as believing whites are genetically superior) and the constant cry of racism will ultimately lead to a classic "Boy who Cried Wolf" situation.

I think the Media was bored today & needed a story
to talk about, race is a HUGE talking point.
even though this cover has nothing to do with
race. Evolve & catch up with the rest
of the world people, honestly!

I actually thought the picture was very nice, even sexy. I did not look at it and think of a monkey, gorilla or even "oh thats a black man" NOT ALL WHITE PEOPLE ARE RACIST!! Some people see everything in black and white.......... no matter the color of your skin or race.......... humans bleed red.

Ya know something? I just don't get it. There's enough racism and bigotry in the world without people going out and looking to find it in every little thing. I live in San Diego, and, as a NASCAR fanatic, proudly sport my gear.(hat, shirt, jacket, bank card,etc..) And it amazes me the number of times people insinuate that I must be a racist redneck! Talk about predjudice. I'm from Cleveland and love Lebron. Ya, he does look scary. Any 6'9" muscular man looks scary to me. How about we get over ourselves and quit adding fuel to the fire. That cover is excellent.

I certainly agree wholeheartedly but must correct you. The white man IS accused of creating aids. The reverand of B. Obama. Obama may lose the election thanks to a fellow African-American. That was as racist as it gets. Bad ending for a good man. Nice way to represent, reverend.

What would I know? I'm just a "typical white person". Maybe we can get Barack Obama to spin this for the mindless idiots who follow him around like the messiah. Or Rev. Wright can blast this as a KKK of A conspiracy to keep the black man down. By the way, how much does Lebron make a year for playing a kid's game? Get over it.

Nobody is asking the most important question of all: What the hell is a "magazine analyst" and how can I become one?

Nice job, getting paid to read magazines and give your opinion, awesome!!

If you watched Lebron’s performance in the playoffs last year you’d understand reasoning behind the pose. It's an illustration of monstrous energy that he brings the game of basketball.

I cannot believe we still live in a world that a black man and a white woman cannot pose together and still cause such a stir! He has his game face on, that's it folks......now move on. They look Beautiful. God Bless America, that we can see two races together and that should be something positive.
I agree with you! I think its a great cover. I think people just need something to talk about!

are you serious that with all that is going on in the world we as a people are worrying about a fashion magazines cover. come on america we have to find better things to do with our time than sit here and think of ways to criticize little stuff like this. I actually like the picture for man than just the fact that Lebron and Gisele look great together. I also like it for the fact that it shows growth for the new generation of African American males into the usually White society. It also shows that we can go beyond just the the negativity that normally surrounds our race of athletes and shine a positive light on us. I think if you look at this picture and find something wrong with you need a life quick. Go work-out or something over 40% of the population is overweight. How about something about that rather than waste your time wandering if the person who thought up this photo was racist. Me I got better things to worry about I am currently in Iraq and have been for 24 months.

Totally unnecessary controversy. And I am black! Honestly, when I saw this cover, I didn't associate it with the King Kong and Jane stereotype, or the black man getting his white prize as many have. And the reality of it is now that these thoughts are publicized, I can see where a lot of people could lean now to that interpretation.....unnecessari ly.

I honestly don't think this was the point, although now it could be drawn. But that's the world we live in. Half full or half empty. We can choose to look at this as a win in that Vogue finally casted a black figure on their covers. If this was never done before, then this is a step forward. Or was can look at it as defeat, in that "the man's still holding us back!

I chose to focus on the positive. LeBron is a VERY sexy man, and the world can't take that away from him. He's educated and successful, and he's doing what he's paid to do...put on his game face. These are the things I thought of when I saw that magazine cover.

I think the fact that there are still so many racial undertones in America is why stuff like this keeps happening. WERE JUST PEOPLE, and we all come in different packaging, get over it!!!!! It just so happens that some peoples packaging is prettier than others, and this goes beyond color. Gisele and LeBron just happen to be ones in pretty packaging. And Vogue attempted to show the world!

This is good people~!

I think that we are too concerned with political correctness. I didn't get that King Kong thing from the picture until it was mentioned. What I got from it was a man that has a lot of passion for basketball. Not a white man, not a black man, not a purple man, just a man. A male. I think the magazine's comment of "if we had more black people as editors" or whatever it said is insane. The comment above mine (I think) proves that only the people that read too much into things are offended by this picture!! It's just a magazine cover!!
