I actually work as a IT consultant for this committee fool. I am also supporting the games with my alderman Toni Periwinkle. Again you have zero facts to support your view and are "hoping" for the best. Isn't this the same thinking you have along the "global warming" theory? "WE MUST DO SOMETHING" DOING SOMETHING IS BETTER THAN DOING NOTHING AT ALL" Joe wrote: <quoted text> One might hope the Chicago Olympic Committee has reviewed any problems from previous awards and is guarding against them. I seem to recall statements that much of the needed infrastructure is already here. Which of the 50 community meetings will you be attending to get your concerns addressed?

MinisterR wrote: AS usual you are inttlectually dishonest. The real version actually means you have to know what you are talking about especially the point about cost over-runs. Cloud gate was estimated to cost $5 million - the final cost was closer to $24 million. This was paid by "private funds" that is true. But last year the city announced the annual maintenance and repair costs would now be covered by the city. Estimated cost for repair and maintenance $1 million per year. This is from the city. <quoted text> You're the intellectually dishonest one, Minister. Maintenance costs are not an "overrun" and Cloud Gate ("The Bean")is not Millennium Park. And who cares if private donors paid extra for the sculpture? Millennium Park is still not the poster child for an over-budget government project.

You must be mad that you lost the debate on global warming being real, especially when you foolishly tried using Carl Sagan to argue against it.

The costs for maintenance were supposed to be covered by public donors. As usual that fell through and we are on the hook. Are you even from Chicago? I have lived here over 40 years please do not tell me where grant park is and isn't Again you are trying to move away from point of the debate. This government can't manage anything right and the costs are almost always wrong. That is a historical fact in this city/state/county and country. The other historical facts are that every Olympic game held anyway has always gone well over ht planned budgets and 99% of them lose money - especially when you factor in what happened 5 and 10 years after the fact. You are clueless. I am hired to do a job that is based on properly manging costs associated with this proposal as stated by my alderman. Additionally, I am also working the security aspects as part of the Dept of Home land security. None of which in anyway conflicts with my view or job. Again you can't stay focused on the the topic at hand you are very weak indeed. I was correcting your misinformation about Millennium Park, which does not deserve to be cast as a hugely overbudget project. Now tell me again how you're supporting Chicago's bid for the Olympics?????

You really think that doesn't sound like you support the games? That someone who interprets your statement that way is "clueless"? Do you even understand how goofy you sound denying it now and questioning other people's understanding?
