Miami Dolphins' season opener against New York Jets is only one...

Even my wife can see it's the same old, same old with the FINS. Too bad. Really thought things might be different now. Still, it seems to be run, run, pass. Couldn't stop Jones today, either. Poor Special Teams play as well. At least Bell is back. We shall see.

I hope the team takes this as a slap in the face and comes back swinging. We needed more emotion early in this game. Let's hope next week starts better.

Young team, still a lot of rebuilding to be done. It took years to get where we were last year. It is not going to get better over night. On the plus side we are a very young team and play a very experienced team very well. Things will get better, just not over night.

whats with this:
run run pass BS |

I think it's hilarious how dumbed down and instant gratification seeking our society is. Hyde this is just as bad as those people on the street and the other commenters. Did you really think they'd win this one? I didn't. They were in, and they played hard. Yet, we're worried they will not win one? How retarded.
Let's wait a few weeks, shall we, before we starting saying this is the same team as last year? |

"Then Sparano went to Pennington, and the two walked down a hallway, talking about the game, Sparano rubbing his quarterback's neck."....and then "He rubbed him out".

Holy Over-Melodramatic, Batman! It's the season opener nitwit, not the playoffs... You make this sound like it was the worst loss in Dolphin history.. They fought hard, and looked a lot better than at any other point last season. I think they will be 8-8 when all is said and done..

10 Carries for Ricky ??????????
That was the gameplan ? Are you friggin kidding me ?????????? |

So all the knuckleheads that were drinking the kool-aid better relax a bit and realize it's going to be LONG, WONG season for Miami...

Melodramatic Morons: They are going to probably lose to the Cardinals (who are better than the Jets) so prepare yourself. And, start crying/whining NOW. Coles wasn't even trying. This game really wasn't that close. But...
This team is young, ENTIRELY rebuilding, starting 2 rookies on the OL. There is room for improvement and they will improve and begin to develop more chemistry. Including @ WR -- where they may have to activate Armstrong or possibly make a trade. Relax and don't expect more than 5-6 wins or you'll continue to embarrass yourself. |

One Game and the media wants to write off the season ? What a joke.

Why in the world is Patrick Cobbs playing most third downs. This was killing me throughout the whole game. I know this wasn't the reason for the loss, but we could have used a bit more playmakers out there (Brown, Williams). I would love to know what the coaches say in Cobbs to make him the 3rd down back. Also, how about a run to the outside once in a while?
Overall, I actually think we should have one this game. We had 2 drives ending with no points inside the 10 yard line and the JETS threw up a prayer to Stuckey. Reinaldo Hill played this one horably coming up when nobody was in front on him. Anyway .... Go Dolphins! |

So, I was in Miami last week and heard some very intersting things from the typical Miami Dolphanas and media:
1. Chad knows the Jets, therefore phins will win. 2. Mad Dog Jim Mandich said that he would bet $100.00 that ricky ran 100 yards. 3. Most intelligent comments...Dolphins will win, we guarantee it. All I have to say is...Jets must have figured out Pennington OMG.. Mad Dog owes the Jets fasn $100.00 because Thomas Jones ran for 101 yards. Guarntees SUCK. Jets won and all you dolphans sound like sore losers...as usual. See you in december!!! Oh, BTW I also heard that it was going to be very hot and humid in Miami, therfore Phins have the advantage. Hmm..I guess it doesn't get hot and humid in NYC, But it definately gets COLD in December. A$$Holes |

Look on the bright side of things they played better than expected.Pennington shouldent be hurt he threw for more yards than Farv and the play them the last game of the season.By then they will be stronger if the team stays strong and healthy. Hey atleast Brady is out so they have a big advantage in NE. Im impressed and looking forward to see them progress. Go Finn's

I genuinely feel bad for Pennington. I'll take the win but if there were ever a time I could have tolerated a Miami win over NY it was today.

The PACKERS are IDIOTS for letting FAVRE go.....it is clear the man still has a strong arm and can win ganes. Pennington's arm looked weak, and he could not throw the long pass or long out. Favre was clearly the ONLY difference maker why the Jets won the game.

the fins have the same problem they had 12 years ago when JJ took over NO WR'S. Face it Ginn is a special teams guy who would not be a #3 WR on any team in the NFL.

|
Ok no major injuries today...so thats a plus....for a young team it wasn't all bad. Jake Long will come into his own soon...we were very bland in the playcalling...the receivers got no seperation....the stacked the box eliminating the run game....a few more playaction passes would have been nice...with the mistakes that we made (and there were many) for this game to be as close as it was....all in all I would have to say we have improved...Look for more aggresive playcalling next game and domination from the o-line

I could have won that game by running Ricky 45 times and having Eddie Moore crash the pocket and sacking Brett a dozen times. Jeeze
