Wow, I've ignored this thread because of all the stupidity, but I'm glad I read this. You think I'm pigskinner simply because we reside in the same state? You're really fishing now champ. You have entirely too much time on your hands Historian.
Andy is right, Sugar coating your insults IS exactly the same thing as "spewing vulgarities"
The Intent is the same. claiming you are "trying to educate the pat fans" is a little condescending wouldnt you agree? You seem to have a problem w/ vulgar language but, when you step outside into the real world , Guess what? You have to deal with it. Sports brings out this behavior or didnt you know? Maybe you were picked on as a kid and are now sensitive to it or maybe you just feel it's disrespectful in any case, Youre doing the exact same thing-make no mistake about it. It's funny because all the talk about "class" previously and the only one I see w/ class so far here is ANDY. While i agree w/ some of the things you post, I dont humor myself or yourself w/ a response to the rest because All of your "knowledge" is Theoretical w/ absolutely no experience behind any of it & attempting to persuade you otherwise would be an excercise in futility. Finding Links on the web and deriving info from someone elses insight does not make you an expert. Remember, sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken. Be a man about this.
You know what B2B. I may not agree with everything you just said, but I really appreciate the way you said it.

You found a way to forcefully make your point without using profanity or any vulgarity. You made your point like a grown man, not a ten-year-old child. You didn't throw out one liners full of insults, or become unnecessarily abusive just to "win" the argument. You dissented like an adult.

I believe that was the point FH was making.

You talk about language, I talk about treating others with respect. Sorry but as far as I am concerned I would rather have respect then censorship.
And I defended others on the forum you didn't, you just talked about language and didn't care if others got disrespected and though you were better then them.
I feel sorry for you now, keep going on being disrespectfull to others and who cares if they disrespect you back, I know I don't anymore.
I thought you were above that so I came to you and asked you to stop repetedly and found out it was pointless to even think you could stop.
again why is it you that more people seem to hate on this forum?
Karma bites hard
I'll tell you what Andy. As you don't want to answer my question I won't ask it anymore.

As to others being disrespectful on this page, especially those using obscenities....and as it appears as you have nothing to say to them....it must be okay for them to be that way in your eyes. And yes, I am above using obsceneties which others aren't, thank you.

You have my respect as does "Miss Bewitched". But no one has earned anymore respect from me as has "TMD".

If you remember, I once asked "TMD" to tell me if I ever get out of line on this forum in any way....for him to let me know.

And I'm sure he will. But that has not happened.

Why do people hate me?

Because I can express what others can't. And I can do so without gutter language. I can do so without the obscenities. I can do so without spewing profanities.

I can do so with humor and originality. And I can do so with what you once said of me "word flow" to it's highest degree.

"TMD" once said I am the life of the party. That's good enough for me....

Thank you "Miss Bewitched". Thank you "TMD" and thank you Andy.

Abawer what question? you are the one who avoids those things.

Do I use profanity? to a minimal
Do I like profanity? not really, BUT I like it a whole lot more then being disrespectfull. And yes they use it in a disrespectfull manner at times but it is always directed at you who is quick to disrespect them. If you remember I asked you and skidrow BOTH to stop the harrasing posts when you 2 first went at it, but you kept it up like a couple of school kids. I didn't try to stop JUST the language, I tried to stop ALL the insults. I notice you don't care about them for you give them out as much as if not more then anyone and you know it. Historian 2 wrongs don't make a right, they talk out of the gutter and you slang insults. BOTH are wrong.

All I am asking is anyone who feels the need to throw insults around to GROW UP. And for those who use the vulgar language please stop that as well. People, I would hope most of us aren't in school still. but it looks like it with those posts.

You do have the ability to write with eliquence, but when it's Ugly insults it tarnishes your ability. That is all I have to say. I made my point that I tried to stop you and others but you seem to think I only tried to stop you. Get over yourself, it's NOT all about you. I just direct it to you this time because I figured you might have the decency to Quell it. Sorry I had you all wrong.

Dear Mr. Historian
What has happened to our offense?
What can we do to solve the problem?
Sad Patriots fan from Idaho....

Sad Patriots Fan
The problem is Randy Moss. As a captain it is time he stand up like a man and perform the job at hand.

As a captain, he must now show his leadership. But he has done next to nothing to this point. Home field advantage is at stake. We must win these early games to have a chance in the playoffs.

Matt will need a friendly environment to produce when it counts.

After all....Super Bowl victory is all that counts in this league. Let us not forget, millions are still laughing at us from last seasons Super Bowl whipping.

Okay Andy, what do you say of the above words? Is that being disrespectful or is that being humorous?

TMD - tOSU needs to win over Michigan State (ranked 20 AP) this Saturday. The only other ranked team to play after that is Penn State (ranked 3). I assume Penn will glide over Michigan this Saturday in Pa. If we lose to Penn State, will there be a bowl game for us?

Ball State is playing E. Michigan, a bottom dweller in the West Division. That will be on the 25th (must be a bye for the 18th). May be 8 and 0 and climbing?

Andy and FH - You two have been busy today! I think it is good for you to hash these things over. I respect both of you and your opinions do count.

We're almost half way through the season. Any surprises so far? Any disappointments? Any upsets forseen for this weekend?

I was surprised by how many games were won by only 2 points.(last minute field goals).
And got to admit, I didn't know the Browns were going to do what they did to the Giants.

I meant to other posters as if you didn't know.

But to answer your question I think it is neither. I think it is an attemt at humor, but I honestly don't think it's funny. I think it's somewhat dry. Comedians go into more then one joke, you hover around one... The Pats, and thats all. After awhile even jokes that were funny before lose their luster, changing up the way it's told still is the same thing.

As James Brown used to say....I feel Good! And as to surprises to this point Buffalo at 4-1 would be one. Arizona and Atlanta would be a couple of others. And it's good to see Brett Favre playing well and lifting the Jets to a higher level.

As to letdowns Minnesota has struggled more offensively than what was expected.

And as to the two Super Bowl favorites....Dallas hit a little setback with the injury of Romo. They have tremendous talent but it appears Wade Phillips needs to put more cohesiveness into what he has on the field. But Jerry Jones wasn't helpful adding a nuisance such as Pacman to the team. Something is not clicking there at the moment. New England has far more problems than Dallas. The defense has been getting lit up lately with problems stemming at linebacker and DB positions. More speed and youth is needed to be implemented at this time for the return of Tom Brady. Rebuild that "D" now. No point in waiting for the future....

Hey ya'll,

I just thought I'd pop in to tell you that even though my quarterback and my team mate busted his pinky and Packman is up to his old tricks, I'm still here and nothing is going to stop us from winning the Superbowl.

A good friend of mine told me he was watching NFL live and they reported that Favre called Romo and told him that he needs to play unless the pain is unbearable. I guess he also said that he thought Romo was one of the top 5 Players, not QB's, but Players in the NFL today. Then this morning I saw on ESPN that Romo has told coaches that he can still grip and rip even with the broken finger and he wanted to play sunday.

I just saw that the Colts will have a huge loss too. Joseph Addai will miss 2-4 weeks with a torn hamstring. It seems like they have to overcome more big injuries this year, thankfully for them it is short term injuries unlike the Pats big loss.

TMD lets hope our teams can come through these injuries and still be in shape to make that run for the playoffs.

The addition of the "Judge it!" feature was a bad idea. Jugdement is all too often not exercised with the proper degree of discretion and this only encourages abuse and in an annonymous manner as opposed to responding directly. It kind of like writing graffitti, and it's too easy.

I agree. I have only used it once, when we had posters like Historian for example post on I think it was Veterans day. the posts were for our past and present soldiers and it was heartfelt. I judged them all in a positive manner. But I do see too many that just put nuts and such on any post. I actually don't pay attention to them because they aren't being thought out. They being posted normally against people they have grudges against for some reason or other. And that isn't what they were for as I am to understand. Fortunatly it really means nothing what most judgements are.
