Superman handles basketball just like piece of kryptonite

Rather than promising victories, Orlando should first strive for some simpler assurances - like promising that Superman at least occasionally touches the ball.

Wow, pretty harsh article on a 22 year old kid. He's right though, Dwight threw up a bunch of trash shots and then looked at the refs, like "Where's the foul".

Dwight is still a raw player. He's only 22. He will get better with the help of Patrick Ewing and age and experience. He needs to be a little more physical and give it right back to Rasheed and McDyess. One good elbow to the mouth might move them back a little.

The Pistons do a good job on Dwight, but don't forget, that he had three 20/20 point games in the 1st round. Nobody had done that since Chamberlain in the early 70's and Moses Malone in 1979.

He's only 22, he will get better and that's scary for the rest of the NBA!

Who let this guy write an article! Obviously he knows nothing about what he is speaking. I guess Dwight Howard has disguised himself as one of the best centers in the game, but his real lack of talent is finally shining through! Every talent scout and AllStar voter is wrong when they see Dwight is a remarkable athlete.
Did you forget that last game he had a near 20-20 game against the Pistons? Or that he has set endless records that haven't been touched in decades?
Just because a player has a bad game or even a series doesn't mean they are exposed as a fraud! The only fraud here is this writer. I bet he only writes a spirited article when there is something negative to say.

Dwight Howard lacks some fundamentals necessary to propel him to greatness. His game is not finesse at all. Rather a dunk here, a dunk there. That won't do much against any great team like Detroit, who play the game as it should be, strategically. We have too much talent in every department on the floor and bench. This is a total mis-match. We had a tougher time against the Sixers. This one is easy. Can anyone explain how the Magic loss to a Billup-less Pistons? I can. It's simply that the players on Detroit, whether bench or starters understand the fundamentals of the game better. They actually apply it on the court. Van Gundy has a horrible offensive strategy. It's based on high-risks and low-percentage scoring opportunities. This clearly won't pan up against any teams that play fundamentally. It's like a baseball player that swings at every pitch expecting to get a grand-slam with no one on the bases. What?

Play Gortat with Howard in a twin tower line-up and the pistons will cry at the elbows and physical play. Remember that Gortat was the one who busted Howard's lip and gave him stitches. Right now you have two finesse players who avoid contact and the pistons are feasting cause it is two much for one guy no matter how strong or good.

Maybe so but highly unlikely. It's all over now! This series is done. It's a wrap. You guys aren't ready to win it yet! Offensively the strategy is the pits! Get a new coach and a big guard, also get rid of Dwight Howard and get something good in exchange before they find out his diminishing value.

Let's not quit on the Magic team. Van Gundy knows he was out coached; still he will realize that, especially in physical game the bench must be used to allow the regulars to produce in the final minutes when most NBA games are decided. Let baseball offer the perfect example; Middle relievers and set up pitchers are as important as starters and closers. Let's go Magic-

Abosultely. I want to see somebody throw an elbow to that human stick Tayshun Prince. If we have to lose lets take out a few of the Pisstons with some hard fouls.

We do have a big guard. His name is Hedo Turkosomething and he's 6'10". He's only playing the 3 because Rashard Lewis playing the 4 because Brian Cook and Tony Battie are injured. With health, everyone moves down to their regular position and the Magic can play as designed.

As for the rest of your comment, I'll let the insanity speak for itself.

That is probably the worst Idea I've ever heard. Most Detriot fans would have to agree that D12 is a beast. He has a ok hook/sweeping shot from the right or left side with his right or left hand. He needs to develop (oh and he will) an 10 to 12 foot game out from the basket. the season that that happens no one in league is going to be able to stop this team.

as for the big guard, Hedo is NOT the answer folks, sorry. He passes ok but I dot like his descions making. Jameer,( who am not a fan of )ha sbeen doing ok in the playoffs but fact is we should not have given him a contract so fast. we shall see what we dig uo in the draft. This is Otis's last shot

Dwight does and will improve his offensive post skills, but to say Howard is looking for someone or something to blame for another disappointing playoff record is ridiculus. 22 ppg 18rb in round one is not disappointing...Disappointing is watching Hedo hold the ball for 7 seconds, no dribbles, no nothing. Disappointing is watching Dwight grab a defensive rebound, run down the middle of the court, pratically pleading for the ball, and someone jacks up a bad shot. Knowing basketball' you have to feed the garbage man. DH grabs countless rebounds and is not rewarded with offensive touches. There were countless times during the entire playoffs where the Magic jacked up a shot within 8 seconds. Its tough for Orlando to keep a lead leaving so much time on the shot clock. By Dwight touching the ball it opens up 3 point shooters off a skip pass and helps keep the garbage man fueled to clean up the boards!!!
Good Luck Orlando!!!

Evidentally in MI basketball knowledge is lacking. If you think Dwight is diminishing value, shame on you. Nothing but upside with Dwight!!! And please do tell me Mr. Pistons fan, why has Detroit won only 1 ring in the past 6 years playing with the best starting 5 in the NBA?

Hello to everyone on the Magic excluding Dwight. You only get good looks because they know he is unstopable at ponit blank range. Yhe guy is 6'11, 6'11. If I see one more colum saying how difficult or how his teamates cant get him the ball I'm going to pop. We need a Player with court vision. Which really transslates to point guard. I say again Hedo is not the answer, nor is Jameer.Earth to Otis if you ignore this and keep hoping Fran wutchamucalhim is going solve our problems then maybe you outta to find something else to do

I agree Hedo is not the answer...Fran Vazquez is part of the answer..Hopefully he plays next year...Check him out on youtube, he will definetely be a great combo with Dwight down low...Vazquez plays similiar to Gasol but more athletic...With Vazquez, a solid 1st rd pick(deep draft), and a key free agent or two(Kelenna Azubuike/Dorell Wright/Paul Milsap) and its lights out, Magic will be the top team in the East. Dwight will develop more skills playing with Team USA in the Olympics

Basketball knowledge in Detroit lacking? That's a laugh. We're engrained in playoff basketball. You, not so much. You need to get Dwight to play D. He's the laziest defender in the leauge. Watches it happens around him. Most of his blocks come from elevating behind the 1st line defender. He needs to get the cape back out. He can use it to mop himself and the Magic off the floor after they get sent packing tonite. It's over. Bring on LeBron.

You have got to be kidding me. Dwight needs to learn to play defense? How many Pistons players are getting 4,5 and 6 blocks in a game? Most great blockers in the league come from the weak side to get their blocks. Apparently you don't watch much basketball!! You do realize that Dwight is 22 and already a better defender than most people in the league. Blocking shots is not something that can be taught, its something players develop a sense for. At 22 I believe that sense is coming along quite well. You also must realize that for a team that is so playoff savy as the Pistons, the Magic are only down in this series due to a few mistakes we made, not because the Pistons are better. We shot our self in the foot with a few missed free throws and untimely turnovers.
We slaughtered the Pistons in the Palace once this season, its not like it can't be done again!

Listen, you don't know jack. Plus the fact that you are out in California talking trash! The Magic are the 'Tragic' and they won't win tonight. It's all over now! Got it! I can't wait to the finals this year. Detroit Pistons will mop up any west coast team. The west knows nothing about defense. All they do is play cowboy-basketball. Run and Gun! That won't work against the Pistons. Especially when we got Hemis under the hood. Orlando is finished. And they are lucky that they made it this far with the weak game of theirs. Totally a crappy scrappy team. Howard isn't better than ex-Pistons Ben Wallace! Ben has a ring and Do Not Forget that! He is a true Champion.
This is great for me. Playing a wimpy Orlando just to get to the Eastern conference finale. What an easy ride for us Pistons! Now it's either Boston or Cleveland next! Who cares anyway, because they both will get the wrath of The Detroit Pistons. Who are now probably the best ever! Our bench is the best in the league. Chauncy is the most strategical guard on the court today. He is light years beyond any guard in the league. Hamilton is the best shooting guard. And don't forget Jason Maxiell.Who is such a force, ala Barkley. No one will beat this team this year. We are now even prepared to be the team to beat for another 5 or 6 years. This will be fun.
Oh I look for a fight tonight because Orlando will get frustrated and try to fight a Piston player. I hope that it's not Maxiell. That would be terrible because he would mop the entire team by himself. Haha! Detroit Basketball!!!!!!!!

Look my happy bloggers dont get out of your minds with your ranting. produce something true and well thought out.
