Harrison makes sudden impact

Marcus Harrison meant no disrespect to Jon Kitna , the Lions quarterback he had just sacked.

Question:

Does this new breed of NFL player spend as much time practicing the crap they do after they do what they're supposed/paid to do ... as they do practicing what they're paid/supposed to do?

I like Harrison so far. He's showing us that he is first round talent and was a steal there. If no one else will say it, I will.... Good job with this pick Jerry. Pretty impressive.
I hope that Tommie can get back on his feet as well. If he can rebound and get back in to the mix of things, we will have (if we don't already have) the most deep and dominate D-line int he league. And that's exciting because defense starts at that position. If that can chew up blocks, that leaves people like Briggs and Urlacher to knock other players silly.
Two players that I don't think gets enough credit and praise is Alex Brown and Dusty. Brown in particular is having a great start to this season. Keep it up men.

If this kid is doing the Job that they say he is then Keep Tommie Harris off the field until after the bye week. Then bring him back fresh and strong for the tougher part of the schedule.... But make sure he's working his A$$ off rehabing and not spending time knocking women up.

I must admit I was nervous when the Bears picked another guy with a criminal record. However the more I think of it, nobody is perfect. All the Bears can do is throw money at these guys and hope they'll do whats right. Obviously this was a GREAT PICK, provided he continues to do the right thing. I like the Bears chances of going to the 2nd round of the playoffs. NFC East is really the only challengers I see in this Conference.

George, your daily bears rantings are horrible. The bears will not have the best D line in the league with a healthy T. Harris. The Giants D line owns the bears.

That being said, this unit is looking better and better.

Anybody who knows anything about football, knows that it all starts on the line of scrimage. To have this kid making an impact along side a finally healthy Dvorcek makes the team alot stronger than we assumed - based on the pre-season.

Let Harris rest up and get better. Get him suited up every game but have him sit the bench. This way if their is an injury he can jump in but no need to rush him back. We have seen to many players fail because they were rushed back. Lets take the time now while we can to give some recovery time.

Is this a post for Giants fans? I don't think so... You are the second pansy to make a comment about them in this post.
But, if you want to compare, look at the caliber of teams that we've played compared to theirs. The Giants have played powerhouses like Cincinnati, St. Louis, and Seattle and have looked real tough. While the Bears have played wimps like the Colts, Eagles, Bucs, and Panthers.(Sarcasm in case you didn't pick that up)
Based on schedule alone, our d-line has been up against much better competition and has proven that we can do both stop the run and rush. We are beating them in takeaways ( i.e. forced fumbles, INTs, and fumble recoveries). All of the stats that matter. While the Giants do have a good d-line, ours is better buddy. The Giants don't OWN anything here. And you'll see that if/when we face hem in the playoffs.

I didn't realize he was still with the ballclub, until he happened to fall on a fumble vs. the Lions.

Imagine if we'd drafted 2 good O-Line prospects instead of Bazuin and Okwo (positions we did not need at all)...we would be very solid up front on both sides of the ball.

I'm from the heart of Chicago buddy. Don't be fooled. Only a Chicago native can have the kind of love for the Bears that I have.
And your comments are ridiculously absurd. You must not like to be corrected. But if you don't like what I write, leave. You don't have to be here. I'm sure they are other posts that you can spew your none sense on.

Good point. But i do remember people being very high on Bazuin when we drafted him. he was supposed to be a very powerful end, until he got hurt. Okwo, I knew nothing about.
Has anyone heard anything of that that O-lineman that we got from the Bucs? Has he played at all?

Hmm...intereting assertion for a group that failed to protect Q4 leads (and not 1 pt leads but 2 scores leads!) 2 weeks in a row and couldn't pressure a QB once in 67 tries.

Stopping the Lions is hardly worth a celebration/coronation, it's expected, they're the worst team in the league. If they can do this for a few weeks then you can talk of their dominance.

It is interesting that they did play their best defensive game without Harris and Vasher.

To the Giants credit, they have been great. But if you look at the games, their defense hasn't had to try and maintain a lead. Their offense has been very good thus far in this season. The one game where their defense was really test was against another sub par team, the Bengals. This is a game in which their defense gave up 10 points in the fourth quarter. Luckily they pulled that one out in OT.
But I will admit that those games were very disappointing and painful to watch. Especially the Bucs game.
The point is, I believe that, if Tommie comes back full strength, as this season goes on, the numbers will show how dominant we really are.

Beating Detroit no reason to celebrate. They are waste bottom in the NFC North. They have to show they can beat this seasons top NFC division teams, like Carolina and Tampa, which they haven't. The teams the Bears have beat so far have losing records in the first five weeks. Though when they faced and beat the Eagles they did beat a winning team. Now they are 2-3. Lets see what we can do against Atlanta, another NFC South team that will give us trouble and is one up on the win column.

Hello: Its easy to say what we could have done after the fact. But you have to admit that our offensive line is doing a heck of a job & seem to be improving.I have been pleasantly surprised with the play of our O-line.Williams is about ready to play as well after his surgery which should be a big bonus.Take care.God Bless.
