Since the Dolphins have not had a O-Line for almost 15 Yrs they need to draft Jake Long with the 1st Pick If Henne or Flacco are available with there first 2nd rnd pick then they need to pick one of them. Then pick a o-linemen with the second 2nd rd pick

Are they going to look at these qbs? Yes. Are they going to pick one? NO!
At least not with the first pick..and unless they see one that's better than Beck and fits what they're looking for. With only five picks that really count this year a quarterback would be a waste. That means with 4 picks your going to fill all the other needs. Don't see it. If they want to trade down they have to show an interest in certain prospects. Also,if they do trade down they have to know about some of the late round picks. |

Maybe a late project at QB in the 6th or 7th like Joshua Johnson (43 TD's, 1 INT last year, 6'3 and 4.5 40 yard) or Dennis Dixon

I don't know that he's better, but he's a better 2nd round pick than Ryan is a #1, IMHO. |

Comcast sucks this morning.Go Phins!

To use one of your top picks 1,2,2,3,4
to get another bench warmer would be really dumb. You need to give Beck a chance and choose players that can contribute "this" year. If you want either Beck or McNoun to succeed they need an o=line don't ya think? How about stoppin people on defense? Matt Ryan is a Bust! and another qb sittin on the bench or carrying a clip board as the team gets it's a/ss kicked. NICE THOUGHT |

People, get over the fact we MIGHT trade the first pick, it is not going to happen. Like it or not, we are stuck with it and going to have to overpay whoever we pick. The really game will occur at the top of the 2nd round were there will be several QB prospects (Brohm, Flacco, Henne) that teams like Atlanta (if they don't take Ryan), Baltimore, Chicago, NY J, KC, etc will be very willing to swap picks. Maybe we swap with Baltimore for their 2nd pick (42) and get a 3rd or 4th rndr this year or 2nd next year.

Thanks for making some sense! I agree with your post 100%. This years draft does not have a strong QB prospect worthy of the #1 pick. Which is why the Dolphins will most likely not be able to trade down. |
|
That makes sense. We are in a great position to make trades with teams that want one of those QB's but so is Dallas. |

A great O line will make ANY QB look good. But it takes a great QB to look good behind a mediocre O line. Understand where I'm going with this?
Obviously you take pressure off finding the next Joe Montana if you focus on building the O line for John Beck. And if the O line is good, then John Beck WILL look like the next Joe Montana. |

Hey Z: The U has FIVE titles not four ['83-'87-'89-'91-'01]. But I hope you're right about us turning it around. Shannon's on the bubble this year. It's funny how Coker was a good coach but a lousy recruiter and Shannon recruits well but needs to pick up the coaching slack. It's also a shame that "Quarterback U" couldn't find a stud to play the position under either one. I hope we've got one ready to perform now. Looks like the rest of the team has the potential.... |

I not for getting a Quarterback at all. I want us to "wheel and Deal" and take advantage of other teams freaky needs and stockpile picks to build the team the right way with solid players on offense and defense. If we can get 7 or 8 picks by trading down and not sacrificing quality then that's what you want.

Agree. Mcfadden offers the most bang for the buck. But it all comes down to who's needing what. Wouldn't we like to know what teams Parcells' has been talking to? |

I understand what you're saying, and I agree in a sense,(I wouldn't draft Ryan #1). But that being said, we do need another QB, so why not take one in the later rounds. IF Beck does turn out to be a bust, or what if this pick turns out to be a Tom Brady, what does it matter if he sits a couple of seasons... |
|
If your gonna draft Henne, word of caution, words like quick, evasive, escape artist do not come to mind. More like big, slow, plodding are more about him. Give him all day to throw, he will do well, give him any kind of rush and he is toast.

"Roger"]Matt Ryan is the pick.
moron, as usual. |

I sure hope we take either Long with pick one and then move on a QB in round two if either Henne or Flacco are available. You have to ask yourself, how does every qreat QB in the NFL get to their team. The answer is the NFL draft and this is how Miami will find their next franchise QB. My opinion is Miami should draft a QB somewhere in the draft every single year until they solve the problem of finding one. Very rarely will a team find their QB in free agency, the only exception that comes to mind for me over the last decade is Brees to New Orleans, who ironically, almost became a Dolphin, but the clowns in the frontoffice for the Fins went with Culpepper instead and we all know how that story unfolded. Beck may or may not be the answer, he at least deserves more of a chance to prove is capabilities on the field in 08 and I think he will get it. McNown is an upgrade over Lemon, so we are already better off than the 07 campaign. Keep bringing in new blood on an annual basis till we get it right.
TOo bad for Miami everytime they get a top five pick in the last several years that it happens to be in years where the top QB class is weak, why can't the timing work out where there wasa Manning on the board. Ryan is good, but he is nowhere near the quality of a QB prospect of the top QBs that have come out over the last several drafts. http://www.thedolphininsider.blogspot.com/ |

I live in Louisiana and am a passionate LSU fan and this guy Doresy is the real deal. These injury concerns are nuts. Minor dings and he has never missed time due to injury. He plays hurt always. However, Dorsey will not be the first pick, he is not a g ood candidate for a 3-4 nose tackle cause he has neve played in it thus you risk with taking him. However Chris Long, you get two for one with minimal risk which is what you want with the first pick. Long has played in 3-4, and can play either end or Linebacker, plus his rushing capabilities will improve cornerback play. Drafting a QB and then paying him $30 million means tremendous pressure on the Fins and Ryan to be the face of the franchise for the next decade and I do not feel that Ryan is worthy of such a crown. http://www.thedolphininsider.blogspot.com/ |

I swear this is greg cote spying with a fake name and url........either that or some dumbass jet fan...worst post by far |

Most of you have the wrong Long @ #1...many experts on TV and scouts in the NFL (according to many web sites) have Clady as a better LT than Jake Long. Many feel Jake will end up being a RT (reminds me of Robert Gallery). Thake Chris Long @ #1 and the best QB available in round #2.
