Is Andruw Jones' time running out?

Knowing the time is coming to commit to a lineup the rest of the way, manager Joe Torre hinted Friday that Andruw Jones could start seeing diminished playing time as early as Sunday.

Jones has had more than enough opportunities to demonstrate that he deserves to be in the starting lineup and has failed to deliver. Remaining in the lineup is directly related to his $36 million dollar contract and saving Ned Colletti from the embarrassment (if not his job) of benching a highly paid player. Colletti's failures far out weigh his successes; he doesn't deserve to be retained.

Jones has not performed at all this season and his numbers bear that out. Either, on the other hand, has been great!! Joe Torre needs to step up and send Jones to the minors for some hitting practice. Stop hurting our chances to advance with this over-paid disappointment.

If there is any fairness in life at all, Jones' time with the Dodgers will be short.

Ned Colletti: Don't you think that if anyone else in baseball had any reason to believe that Jones had any gas left in his tank they would have signed him before you did. You are an absolute fool. What is worse is that McCourt continues to let you ruin the Dodgers franchise.

What does Colletti have on Joe Torre that Joe won't stand up to Ned and say this is enough and stop playing Jones or flat out say "Get rid of Jones".

The look on Jones' face after he was doubled up in what was a crucial at bat said it all. Jones was smiling with a grin all the way back out to centerfield, he was having a good laugh.

McCourt needs to take control and fire Ned and dump Jones.

I was thinking about the Comic-Con in San Diego this weekend and thought that Jones would be the MVP in Bizzarro Baseball. Strikeouts, hitting into double-plays, bad attitudes, he does it all.
Thus, I calculated that this was what Colletti was trying to do, have the Bizarro stat leader. When Colletti hears people scream at him "you stink" he thinks it a complement, at least they didn't scream "you stink bad."

Nednick,
You're one of the gratest GMs in the history of soccer.
I like the way Puuw is hitting with men on base. It shows he still has a sense of humor. Personally I like his smirk. Kind of like Osama bin Laden.

How about putting together a trade that would send Clanton kershaw and andrew joses to the red sox for THE RIGHTS TO "BILLY BUCKNER"? Billy is better on one leg than these other two.

FIRE NED COLLETTI!!!! SIT ANDRUW JONES, OR PLAY HIM IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER ANYMORE. A FEW YEARS BACK THINGS WERE LOOKING UP
FOR THE DODGERS. LOAIZA, SCHMIDT,PIERRE, AND JONES, LATER- DODGERS HAVE BEEN RUN INTO THE GROUND BY THIS FOOL. MAYBE YOUR LOYALTY STILL LIES WITH THE GIANTS. WHICH HELPS EXPLAIN WHY YOU'VE DONE SUCH A GREAT JOB FOR US. YOUR FOOLISH ADMINISTRATION OF THE TALENT WILL CONTINUE TO HURT THIS TEAM FOR YEARS TO COME. I HAVE 36 MILION REASONS WHY ANDRUW JONES CONTINUES TO PLAY, DON'T BE ASHAMED IF JONES SITS WE WON'T THINK ANY LESS OF YOU.

SIT JONES DOWN NOW HE IS NOT A PLUS FACTOR TO THE TEAM. JUST LOOK AT HIS SO AND LEAVING MEN ON BASE. BRING IN SOMEONE THAT CAN HIT. SEND KERSHAW BACK DOWN..HE IS NOT READY FOR THE BIG TIME. RELEASE MARK SWEENY OUTRIGHT. TORRIE NEEDS TO WAKE UP IF THEY WANT TO WIN THE DIVISION....

The only reason Jones is still in the lineup is that the front office is more interested in saving face by playing this year's free agent bust than in winning ball games. The good news is that last year's free agent bust no longer can even try to pitch.

Jones simply is the worst pick up in Dodger history. And we have had some real poor pick ups. Thank goodness that he only signed for one year. Sit him, bench him, send him to Vegas, whatever. But keep him out of the lineup! I don't know how that guy can collect a check!!!

Andruw Jones is not only the WORST player per $$$ but he is quite possibly the WORST player in MLB period. Standing boo's each time he strikes out. The best thing you can say about him is that there is almost no chance of hitting into a double play when you strike out each at bat. Tonight he proved me wrong and hit into a double play.

Phil,

You are such a dork. First of all you actually believe what you say is true. How sad it must be living in your mom's basement and only eating pork rinds and dominos pizza because your fat butt is to big to get through the door.

Nomar has been productive since day one here in LA and we are thankful for that. Also, he is a team player who gives his all day in and day out.

Except for some recent history, where the hell have your Red Pantiewaists been the last 80 some years, usually the basement. At least the Dodgers have 6 penants during that time and some more Hall of Famers than all the Boston's fans aggregate IQ.

Geez, you guys killed Buckner's dog. How low can you go?

Do your self a favor, cram a handful of your pork rinds into your face and just shut up, your ignorance is showing.

It's a clever marketing ploy. I'm watching nearly every game now just to watch him strike out.

You're right, I think the Dodgers have picked up a whole new audience. The "I can't wait to see him break the strike out record" viewers.

Allen, after I thought aout it, you may be right. Is Colletti really a genius, is it possible he wants to completely change baseball, by putting in a "handicap factor". Each team would have to play a "dhp" designated handicaped player, like the way that jockey weight is calculated in horse racing. This way agmes can be finished in 9 innings and if their is a tie, the handicap factor comes into play. Calcualtions of that players stats are iincluded in the final score and for example a close game can be won 2.15 to 2.05. Collettis is brilliant, a pioneer a maverick bordering on genius.

With the acquisition of Jones, Colletti has secured the "MHP" for the Dodgers these next two seasons. And here we all have been knocking Colletti and Jones. I was looking so hard for a reason and it was right under my face. And to think I had theorized that Colletti was from the Bizarro world, like in Superman and in that world striking out five times in a game is a perfect game.

Thank you for oening our eyes to the fact that there were other reasons to acquire Jones. Now, I finally get it.
