Great. And who cares who wins. It's just another step in moving forward in the agonizing procedure of accepting human beings, all of whom have feelings regardless of gender. Wouldn't it be wonderful if in our lifetime we could achieve the place of believing "who cares?" The only question of concern being "Is he/she a nice person and do they do good for others?" So exhausting... all this fear.

"That was a rude and ignorant thing to say. You obviously must live in a 'box'.. because you certainly think from inside one. It's obvious the fact that you'requite insecure with yourself, as well.. and are most likely the jealous sort."
What is the poster insecure with and jealous of what? What a retarded reply.
Suddenly people who feel uncomfortable with someone who considers themselves the opposite gender when by nature they aren't. People be "open".
Maybe those imposing themselves in telling others to open up, should consider being more open to the feelings of others who aren't comfortable with them.

Insecure with their own sexual identity and jealous of the other individual's ability to live true to themselves.

By nature, they *are* the opposite gender, which is why its a medical condition. Others are confused by the incongruity, the seeming "going against nature".

Actually, I think most of the models will just shrug and say, "Eh." Men masquerading as women has been a staple in Las Vegas and other venues since the 1920s. In this case, a transgender will be just a next step in the evolutionary process. The ones who will have the most problems with all this will likely be the producers, who will want more name-calling and cat-fighting, and probably won't get it. After all, crap sells; if the models are mature enough and don't act like redneck, lifetime, card-carrying members of the KKK, this might be boring for the ones running the show. I'm hoping that the models will embrace and welcome hir as a friend, not as a freak that so many who have contributed to this thread would label hir as. This is the year almost-2009; welcome to it, and let's stop acting like it's 1809.(Note: the word "hir" is spelled correctly; in some circles, it is an acceptable combination of "his" and "her.")

I love the fact that she is doing this! I feel that EVERYONE should have an opportunity to compete. I saw the two hour show yesterday and that girl is BAD!!!(in a good sense of the word) I think she can take it! she has the knowledge of the industry and she really wants this. I did not know she was transgender until it was announced! You do u girl!

I am a middle age woman and I LOVE ANTM and Miss Banks ( I watch it with my daughter) I do however, think that she wasn't quite fair and HONEST with the other girls in the group BEFORE they were selected as being in this competition on that a person like Iris could be in the show. I just believe each one of those girls should have been given a chance before being selected to voice their opinion on how they would feel sharing a home with a trans gender and then they could back out before the competition began if they couldn't handle it.

I wish Isis the best of everything that life has to offer. Whether she wins or lose on America's Next Top Model, she is very courageous and should be commended for moving forward on her dream of being a model! May she inspire others to live their dreams and reach for the stars!

Isis:
Stay strong Isis.
YOU are far more intelligent than the undisciplined young women who for no reason except ignoranance have a problem with your participation. Ignore the hate and win this season

Hello. I am the producer of Taxicab Confessions and we have been including rides on transgender folks for a dozen years. I give Tyra Banks a lot of credit for including Isis this season. Transgender men and women have an amazing perspective on life and relationships, and Isis will undoubtably add a lot to the series. We have a series on our network, www.CrushedPlanet.com , that follows a group of transgender beauty pageant contestants, called Gender Blender. These women show a strength and honesty and sense of humor that is truly inspiring.
