How is that Victory? He still had to be finger printed and take a shooting test. What part of "Shall not be infringed" does the DC police not understand.

There should be no requirements to keep a firearm in your house for self/family protection.

You still can;t own and keep the most commonly used firearm a Semi Auto pistol. DC still only allows revolvers even thought the Supreme court said that allowing only revolvers is not allowed.

More of the police making up the laws as they go.

Handguns should be outlawed. Period.

Get supreme court justices that understand justice and liberty for all... and not just gun owners...

the right to live without the fear of being shot by your relatives or neighbors is an inalienable right of every American.

Gun owners need to see a psychiatrist.

First, please provide the applicable cite in the Constitution or BOR that defines the right to live without fear.

Second, just how to you plan to implement your plan to outlaw handguns? Specific details please, and be sure to address the numbers of handguns already in existence.

Third, if it is true that gun owners need to see a psychiatrist (as in we are all crazy)- that just complicates your problem to ban handguns, does it not?

I agree with you NAD. The main problem with the required "registration" is that now the government knows who has the guns.

I seem to recall a man named Adolf who implemented something similar.

That is exactly what I was about to type, "Shall not be infringed" seems clear enough to me.

The constitutional protection enumerated by our founding fathers to protect us from tyranny has withstood the test of time and the misguided. Everyone armed equals everyone safe and our freedom secured. It is the legal and moral obligation of every American to own a firearm. Conversely, it is the obligation of the schools to teach firearm safety to children at the pre-K level on up. Gun safety should be as much a part of elementary education as reading, writing and arithmetic. G_d Bless America for our court and the heroic individual who stood up and fought for our liberty.

I shoot for sport and competition. Having put many holes in paper targets and rang a lot of steel targets. Many years I wouldn't touch a gun because the Government forced me to train to shoot people with a machine gun out the door of a helicopter,(1970), quit counting after 600 kills. I carry now because of the people that go to psychiatrists or the people like the two kids in Vegas that shot gunned a 54 year old on his way home from work, just to see what it was like to kill some one. Like the saying states "I would rather have one and not need it, than not have one and need it", or "an armed society is a polite society". I hope I never have point my .357 at a person, but threaten my life or one of my family and I know 6 rounds in the chest will stop the threat. Cops are there to clean up the mess, usually thirty minutes to late. Ask them, most are happy to know I can protect myself and others. The Gun Ban is just another way for a group to make money. Like the drug war, abortion, minority rights, etc, etc. No one would bother with any of this if the politicians didn't use such issues to get elected and for pro or con groups make money. Get the idea you liberals with armed escorts? Educate yourself, don't read the newspaper or watch TV. There are actual statistics. In Sweden it is a law you must have a rifle in your home. Check out the stats on their crime and death rate from guns. Now I'm bored, it's too hard to changed a mind that is programmed by the U.S. Government.(1984)

Hey, I'm a liberal (an extreme one) and even I believe that we should be able to own handguns for our own self-defense, and carry them in public without a license being necessary.
As to the thing Kearney said about "Gun owners need to see a psychiatrist!".... I have seen the same thing said about EVERYONE who disagrees with the views of someone else.
You know what? In most cases, the psychiatrists AGREE with the person who is sent to them once they interview them. That's a little known fact.

Not in all cases. I usually agree with this, but there are some cases where the threat of being killed is used to intimidate people who have very good points. Homosexual activists and pedosexual activists being the most well known of these groups.
The real thing that we have to do is take away the guns from people who say that they should be used to intimidate someone else.

Really, our 'free America' isn't really that free, with all the religious BS (and ALL of it is BS) floating out there today.

I've been around and owned many aguns in my life. I won't give them up without a fight. You don't want a gun i wouldn't fight to make you own one. Stay out of my affairs. and worry about the criminals. There's been about 4 different times in my life that if i was unarmed me or innocent liberals would have died. No matter what they believed they thanked god for my gun with me. Because i was armed nobody died.Only a morron would try to clean this U.S. of guns. Only the criminals would have them and then what! There would be no U.S. if not for home ownerswith guns. You couldn't stand up aginst people that has done anything to you.Just makes sense that you get the rights from gun owners just to try and take them away.

You have your rights not to own a gun.

I have my right to own as many as I choose.

Your right does not override mine.

By the way, I'm armed enough for the both of us.

Gun owners need to see a psychiatrist.
My relatives and neighbors own guns, and I don't live in fear of them shooting me.
A lot of the problem with guns is, we only hear about the bad. There are millions of gun owners who use common sense and keep their guns safe, and don't shoot people.
And, why should I see a psychiatrist? Because I own a firearm?
What about knives? A lot of people are stabbed to death every year. Should knife owners see a shrink?
I hate to use the old, trite comment, but, guns don't kill people. A person has to pick up a gun, load it, aim it and pull the trigger. It's not the guns fault. Sure, maybe with so many guns around, more people get shot. But, look at nations where they have strict gun control. People still get murdered.
If someone wants to kill you, they will kill you, gun or not.

Sounds to me like you're the one who needs to see a psychiatrist, to deal with your paranoia. You shouldn't live in fear of your family and neighbors.

Well I'll be damned. Finally I have one of you on record. I ask gun rights activists if the irresponsible and inept should have unimpeded access to legal firearms. "Oh no" they say. But I know there's a quite a few like you. If a felon walks into a gun shop, no test, no fingerprints, just give the man a legal gun. Uh huh. May it be YOUR kid that meets that "legal" gun owner and not mine.

If you are afraid of fingerprinting then you have something to hide. If you are afraid of a shooting test then you are afraid you are not competent to fire a gun. And it's the conservative red staters that said that, not some liberal commie! Nice try okie.

Quit counting after 600 kills? I'll bet you watched Apocalypse now about 300 times huh? And then Full Metal Jacket...How do you shoot women and children, easy ya just don't lead'em as much!

So be honest pal, where did you go to basic, you must remember, what was your senior drill sergeants name? What was your primary MOS? When did you earn your wings, were they pinned on by the CWO flying the bird or whom? Lets hear the tales....

You are full of something, and its not hours in a log book.
