I know a true story of abuse when I hear one. And even if it didn't happen, it is dangerous to go around questioning possible abuse victims on their crediblity. That is why it is so hard to get an abuser convicted.

Those who experienced it themselves can always tell when another person has... Now I agree with you that Penny has shown very little compassion towards anyone in here and some of the things she has said are evil and vile to the core of all that is wrong with the world. She tells us all that we are basically a lie and then when she says something everyone is expected to believe it..I understand your point - I really do but she was abused, the words she used prior to telling about the abuse confirmed it for me, I knew it long ago...whether or not you or anyone chooses to show compassion towards her is an individual choice and I do not judge it for I understand it is hard to overlook some of the things that were said and more than likely will be said again... blessings to all

I can express doubt about your claim however, and that is legitimate given your dismissal of accounts of our lives, and your attacks on me and other gay people here. This issue is far beyond sexuality, the definition of marriage, or whom one can love with legal protection. If Prop 8 is passed, there is no telling who's rights are the next to be eliminated.
Our state's and country's constitution have never voted to eliminate an individual's or group's rights - they're there to protect everyone, especially minorities.

now I could care less about what you said about me becoming a counselor... If God wants me to be a counselor NO MAN or WOMAN for that matter will stand in that way...and not even medical people.. because GOD will have his way in my life whether you like it or not.. NOW I do agree i need to go thru some intense counseling BEFORE i even think of counseling others THAT we agree on and so on that note today was my first day of counseling with sexual assault... I do like the lady that is working with me but it will take time to trust her..she is very down to earth... which helps...
NOW your idle threats of PA not allowing me to become a counselor mean NOTHING to me.. because of the sheer fact I WILL be a counselor... and i will overcome my past as I have seen Rose and Proud and even Servant do.. also YOU will never tell me i cannot speak from the Bible.. I have every right to speak my beliefs and you also do...

Penny, I think the point people are trying to make here is that the same feelings you have about being called a liar on this issue, because they weren't there and can't possibly know, is that you have never experienced being gay but you continue to call them liars when they tell you they were born this way and it is not a choice. Just like they can't know because they weren't there, you can't know because you have never been gay. Can't you see how judging, without having had the experience, is very hurtful and wrong?
