Underage parties targeted

Several beer cans on Sunday could still be found lying in a field in rural East Hopewell Township, near a home tucked in a pocket of farms, trees and suburban homes.

Your information is incorrect. The youths at the 4200 Block of Delta Road were not arrested. They never even left the residence until picked up by parents. You need to check and double check your facts before printing false information and names in the newspaper and online. This needs to be taken down now! Don't you check your facts with the police before printing incorrect information. I demand a retraction and apology for printing the names and false information or my attorney will be contacting you.

WOW! You must be a York Catholic alumnus! Or a parent or relative of one of the boozers.

They may have received their information from the police! DUH!

Just because they left the party with their parents doesn't mean they weren't arrested.

Well, Ms Doaks. Maybe your of-age son should stay away from drinking parties where underage kids are at!

The angels all probably received their citations at the house before being released to their parents. Before you pop off about things that you don't know about maybe YOU should check your facts!

There were no citations issued at the house or anytime later. The police also refused to show any results of the PBT to anyone or discuss what the kids blew with parents. I don't have a problem with anyone being held responsible for breaking the law, but only when all the facts are straight and accurate. I'm sure we have all made stupid mistakes at some point in our lives. One was starting this comment this morning. I'm just tired of newspapers printing without getting details just to meet a deadline.

Wow! We had an article a while back about one school possibly forbidding somje students from attending prom because they were seen in the presence of booze in pictures. I wonder what the high and mighty York Catholic will do????

I agree with you totally. I know their parents are mad but oh well kids do stuff regardless of what school district it is. People stop tripping because your kids drink, smoke like everybody else. I see the names also and who said that they are bad kids, they want to get their drink on too. It's close to the end of the year and the kids will party no matter what. Barbara you are just embarassed because your co-workers know that them little angels are little devils too!!!! Calm down, it's gonna be alright. They will go before the magistrate and get their punishment (fine) like all the other children. Get rid of the alcohol at your house, that's where it all starts. Yep, the city kids smoke a lot of weed and yours drinks thee alcohol most and smoke too!! So Barbara as we used to say "Put that in your pipe and smoke it!"

Three Hail Mary's and drop something in the pot. This scenario takes place every weekend in USA. Another example of parents taking up for their law-breaking children. You got caught, suck it up, and get on with your life. Think of the parents of young folks who are dealing with a death at one of these parties. You're fortunate.
You'll hear from my attorney in the morning.

Wow that comment reeks of snobbery. Just because these are YC kids, you feel you can spout off and make yourself feel so superior because some bad choices were made.
Nobody wins in this situation...not the parents who allowed this party to happen in the first place and certainly not the kids who will now have to pay the price as they should.

I wonder.....Are the parents of these unsupervised delinquents upset that their babies were drinking, that they got caught or that their names were printed in the papers. Hmmmm. Something to consider. Instead of trying to make this disappear, why don't their parents explain to these darlings that if they want to play like grown ups, they'll have to face the consequences like grown ups. Wait til these same brainiacs go off to college. OMG!!!

Barb, stop your crying. The citation your kid will get will note what the BAC is. Sorry the police didn't cater to your every whim, they were busy doing their job. Tell the judge it's unfair, I'm sure she'll listen. Try putting the blame where it belongs, with the party goers. I live in teh area and if the police got called its because somebody called them. We never see police at night in the area so probably someone called because of the noise. Maybe if you didn't go on a public message board people and make excuses and talked to whomever you know was there about taking responsibilty for their actions this may not happen again.

All I can say is someone must truly hate York Catholic to put this on the front page of the newspaper. It's a 21st century high school era ladies and gentlemen. Kids have been drinking since sophomore, even freshman and eighth grade year. I'm sure older folks can think back to their own "glory days" of throwing back a few after class or prom or what have you. It's never going to change. Believe it or not, kids are not as dumb as they look. In fact at least they are taught be more responsible with not getting into a car afterwards and driving somewhere, putting his or her own life on the line, as well as others. But that is out of the parents' control. While the parents may be naive in letting their kids go out and do this, it's a shame that YDR thinks it classy to release names of well known students at YC. Be that as it may, I'm sure every other school in York County will have to deal with this for the next few weeks/months as celebration continues with classes ending, prom, graduation, and the famed senior week. Bottom line, it was dumb and now people have to pay the price. Oh and another thing, people seriously need to come visit any area college on a Friday night. As a curretn college student, you are all in for a rude awakening. Welcome to the real world. Get used to it.

Well known or not well known, it will teach these kids something apparently the school, church or parents have not beenh able to teach the kids. Just because someone scores 10-million points in basketball does not preclude them fcrom not having their name published!
