thankyou so much for printing my sons picture in the paper . He looks so cute. We are big Tony Stewart fans and it was nice to take them to a local track to see thier idol.

Did anyone have any luck meeting Tony or getting his autograph? Just curious, I was thinking about taking my 4 year old who is a big Tony fan like me, but didn't due to other things coming up. Just wondering how accessible the drivers are in this enviroment vs. the normal NASCAR enviroment.

That's a cute picture of Tony Stewart. He didn't look any different from anyone else walking around ...... even right down to the stains on his t-shirt!! I was wondering the same thing, Jeff - did anyone just get to walk right up to him from the crowd and carry on a normal conversation with him?

History shows that Tony is more aproachable at something like that. He DOES NOT like doing autographs but responds better to children and polite, requests.

He was even late for his autograph session last year at the Gibbs Fan Event

I enjoyed the article and love when the NASCAR guys get out and support each others fundraisers. My only beef with this being a Kasey Kahne fan is why is the angle of the article focusing on Tony Stewart? All three pictures are geared toward him. Wasn't it a Kasey Kahne Foundation Fundraiser? The guy who actually won the race drives for KKR WoO and we don't even get a picture of him. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of Tony's as well and I'm not trying to ruffle feathers. There's probably a legitimate reason that I don't know about. This thread came up on the Kasey Kahne Forum and after reading it just made me wonder.

They had a drawing of people who bought advance tickets; 150 of them got a private autograph session. Poor Dave Blaney gets treated like a third wheel when the other two drivers are there. They had the 3 of them pitted next to each other but with their pits roped off. It almost feels like they're animals caged in a zoo with people gawking and screaming at them. Tony tends to ignore it but Kasey looks a little shell-shocked sometimes. After the heats, the 3 drivers were up on the flagstand taking questions from the track announcer; Tony was a hoot telling lots of funny stories.

Tony was holding Kayle during the drivers meeting, we were standing just a few feet behind them. Tony's inexperience in winged sprints showed but I think everybody had a great time. I know we did !!!

The drivers are really accessible here. Atleast Kasey was. As soon as we showed up he was signing in nobody around here so we just walked up to him and had a conversation with him. Also I would look over and he would randomly be walking around in the infieldjust with his friends. Blaney was the same way. Tony on the other hand didn't really talk to more fans than he needed to. So it all depends on who the driver is.

As a regular of New Egypt Speedway in NJ, we have had the pleasure of having Tony Stewart race here in a big block modified, with our regular drivers. Also, the gentleman who won the C main, Kevin Nagy, is a NES regular. When the superstars are in a dirt track environment, they seem to be more at ease. Especially for Stewart, who spent tons of time on the dirt. He can race everything, including lawn mowers, on dirt!
