President Bush declared progress in the Iraq war Thursday, saying terrorists "are on the run" and a generally improved security environment should permit further U.S. troop reductions.

2 For all of you who trot out the Mission Accomplished crud, just remember that that banner was made to celebrate the return of the 10 mo deployment of the USS Lincoln. Was it a theatrical attempt to get political milegage for Bush? Yes. Was it poor judgement on Bush's part? Probably. For those of you with BDS, my point is to just get over it. With minimal effort, I could find similar poor taste and judgement from every one of the last 10 or so Presidents. For me, the best part of no more GW Bush, is that I won't have to read all this BDS stuff from you people. |
