The McCain camp has never uttered anything racist against Obama, because they have questioned his past and present associations with people who leave a lot to be desired, this is automatically labeled racism? I believe every American has the right to make an informed decision based on facts, and the facts are that Obama has chosen to befriend and work with people who have either admitted to bombing federal buildings or a pastor who preaches hatred on a weekly basis or an organization who is now in the news for voter fraud. This is something everyone must think about. I personally would prefer not to have a President with these skeletons in his closet. I am not a racist, my decision is based on morals, values and what I want for the future of this country. Thank You! Now I have a questin. Why does it seem that everyone is after Palin because someone yelled out "kill obama" and she said nothing. And yet Obama's WIFE, the possible next first lady of our COUNTRY, stated " this is the first time I've ever been proud of my country. " And only a few of us pick up on it and them get slammed for commenting about. I think the racist is obama, and NEWS FLASH!! You can be a racist no matter what the color of your skin

I am not a racist, my decision is based on morals, values and what I want for the future of this country. One is generally accused of being a racist in these blogs when conversations lag and people get bored. Apparently there are about 5,000 code words that people have turned into "racist" words (things like "Canadian"...) so if we innocently use one of these words, someone is ready to pounce. It's really easy to call someone a racist, because it automatically puts him/her on the defense. I've been involved politically for many years, and ironically the very person who called me a racist is now one of my dearest friends - because we talked it out and realized there were some knee-jerk reactions going on, nothing more. You are so right - if facts tell us something about someone, positive or negative, race and religion are inconsequential.

obama a go go wrote: <quoted text> Since Obama is ahead of McCain in every poll it stands to figure that most Americans do NOT share the same views as blonde does - THANK GOD! MSNBC Polls? The MSNBC poll said Obama won the last debate approx. 88% to 10%. Fox Poll was the same but with McCain at 88%. So McCain won according to FOX. The Liberal Left has control of most of Media, Hollywood and generally makes more noise so there you go. Say you go inland from the coast 100 miles and wha-la. A whole different story. Not conduct a pole in San Francisco or Berkeley and wha-la... your above average Americans are everywhere. Harry Merkin

True... McCain said he never really loved America until he was held prisoner. Convenient how the folks ranting about the statement made by a candidate's wife never get around to mentioning that the actual candidate they support said much the same thing.
Next, they'll accuse you of playing "gotcha politics"...

Harry Merkin Psst, Harry! Just between you and me... "your above average Americans" don't spell it "wha-la". Try "voila" instead... you'll seem less below average that way. And "pole" is what you seem to have stuck in your behind. When people are surveyed it's called a "poll". "Above average Americans" like you crack me up! You're a regular rocket scientist I'm sure. parlo wrote: <quoted text>You are not even using the actual quotes of either one!!!! YEEEESH!!! And Republicans wonder why they are losing??? no - I was paraphrasing... "For the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country" (sans really) "I really didn't love America until I was deprived of her company..." and "It wasn't until I was deprived of her company that I fell in love with America..." If you can't see the difference between those statements, I guess there's just no use wasting my time with you.

That is not what they said - not at all. Got a knee-jerk anger thing going, don't you? What 'umm' was saying was, why the disparity in reporting? Why did the mainstream media give Michele Obama a pass while pouncing on Sarah Palin? It is a very good and very legitimate question.

What he said was, he always loved his country, but he didn't know HOW MUCH until he was being held as a prisoner of war. Michelle Obama - the recipient of a Harvard education, attorney at a prestigious law firm - took all she had for granted and never loved her country AT ALL until Obama was a candidate. You know, comparisons tend to work better when you are comparing apples and apples and not apples and oranges.

Palin's house was built for "free" by the same contractor, subcontractors and building supplier that built the Sports Arena. They finished the house just before starting the Arena. The engineer was the guy that mentored her beginnings in politics. The material supply company was the same one that provided supplies to Senator Stevens remodeling that has him being tried in court. Sarah, as mayor, removed all requirements for building permits just before starting her house about a mile from the Arena site, which wasn't property the town owned! Now, all that is required to build in Wasilla is a "finished statement", "It's Done"! Ah, Sarah and Todd, the gift that keeps on giving. Bet the IRS will have fun with them!

McCain's POW comments remind me of how much I learned about the United States by living overseas for three years. I always loved my country just like I love my parents - but took it and them for granted as many young people do. I lived mostly in Germany but also two months in Spain, and while I learned as much as I could, talked to as many people as I could, and traveled when I could, there were many times I was incredibly and painfully homesick. Living there, of course, cannot even begin to be compared to being a POW. However, I noticed so many things that I did not care for from socialized medicine (what a pain when I became pregnant), crazy drivers (Spain), fewer choices on the grocery shelves, exhorbitant gas prices, and even way people queued up for the bus. In Spain it was emphasized again and again to NOT get in a car accident, as the police there would put everyone in jail, and the slowly sort out what happened ... all on "manana" time. Overall it was a great experience - but when I returned to the United States of America - it was one of the greatest days of my life.

Gee, why not just bring up Cindy McCains family mafia connections, and her father and uncles federal convictions for bookmaking and illegal alcohol distribution. Why not bring up Cindys drug addiction and thefts in order to support the habit???? Since you are so obsessed with focusing on the first ladies, lets take the issue there. Two can play your sleazeball game!!!

Michelle also comes from a working class family in Chicago and worked hard to get where she is. It wasn't handed to her, unlike Cindy McCain, who's husband also voted against the same bill she criticized Obama for running for. OF course, how could she ever tell of she had a cold chill? Cindy and John, two spoiled, narcissitic brats with tons of money. John shouldn't have even been a POW, as he had a habit of crashing planes, got alot more slack because of his daddy admiral. Instead of dealing with your racism and hatred of democracy, you support people who are the real elitists and have run this country into the ground, while shipping money made from our hard work offshore. Right now, the major players in the bailout, the same ones who spent thier companies into disaster are in Dubai planning what to do with our money. Dubai, no extradition, built to shelter the robber barons of the world. you might want to check that out instead of being afraid of the big black man.
