McCain complained about the filthy Rove politics used against him in past elections. He has always stated that he was above this. With Sarah injecting the Rove "terrorist" label into this election cycle, plus some really STUPID remarks shouted out at McCain rallies (Those retards should have known the cameras and microphones would be ALL OVER that), Karl may have sealed John's fate...

Sarah Palin's rhetoric has crossed the line with the completely unfounded labeling of Obama as a terrorist-associate who subscribes to the views of people he knows only slightly. We all come across many people and often do not know their full story or background. There has been some hate-mongering aimed at Obama by the McCain campaign. Perhaps, McCain has now realized that such tactics are ultimately harmful. Maybe McCain is a decent man at the core, but has slipped from his ethical moorings? Surely, he knew what he was getting with Sarah Palin, who is an ruthless attack dog. Hard to know whether this is a change in strategy or reemergence of conscience.

The Republican party is going to implode by their own vitriol. They've got to take their party back from the talk radio commentators who pride themselves on directing the campaign, even as these same commentators ridicule their own candidate!

What's the matter? If there is nothing to be ashamed of why doesn't Obama come clean and shoot down the Rove thing, and the Wright thing, and the others.

McCain is trying to pul it back now eveidently. This afternoon he called a woman down and then said Obama was a decent human being and would be okay in the White House. Then he followed and said he believed he would make a better president. He sees the polls and knows he's going down big time if something doesn't give.

Why doesn't McCain condemn the inappropriate comments form his "supporters" - perhaps he is showing his true colors.

The republicans are grasping at straws on a sinking ship. Good thing the American people have seen through their crap after the last two presidential elections that have caused this country to be dragged into a cesspool by GWB.

Just say no to McSame/Failin, say no to four more years of the same failed policies.

Its simple. If you dignify the slander with comment, you legitimize the comment itself.

Look...

Obama said that he wanted to run a campaign on the ISSUES. He stated that politics as usual at this critical time in history just would not do.

He said that realizing that America will not accept that from a Black candidate. The very fact that you have white people calling this man a terrorist, and are shouting the he be bombed is proof of that.

The tactic of insenuating that Obama is less than American, favored by terrorists, or an agent for subversive causes is the dirtiest of political strategy, ESPECIALLY when you are BEHIND!

Now, the NUTS have been uncaged and are shouting for the man's life!

I am not crazy in the LEAST about John McCain, but I have to admit that I feel badly for him, because today when that old bat called Obama an ARAB in front of him and he set her straight, he must have realized that his run for the presidency has become a petty display of cheap politics, pandering to the WORST aspects of human character.

He realizes that the people he decided to run his campaign took from him the power of decency, and have transformed him into someone Democrats, Independants, right wing columnists and even people who once respected him into Joe McCarty.

The damage done may not only end his political career, it may endanger the very life of the next president of the United States.

If John McCain is not completely disgusted with what his campaign has become, he should be.

You're correct - great post. I used to have some respect for McCain but now, none.
How sad that he allowed himself to be reduced to such ugliness.
He has become what he said he would never be - a dirty politician playing dirty politics but what did he expect - having Rove working on his campaign?
What a fool.

This is the desperate stench of economic losers seeing their standard of living slipping away. Rather than focus on the real culprits in the banking, policy and business circles that have appropriated their voice through hate radio and simplistic jargon, they react to and focus on the opposition candidate. There are no educated voters shouting these things. This is the battel cry of the undereducated and untraveled. I pity these people. I will pity them evern more if McCain is elected and he then does what he's promised such as cutting Medicare and taxing their medical benefits if they are lucky enought to still have a job.

Yea, you once had some respect for McCain. God punishes liars as well as dirty campaigners. You're getting your jollies because McCain is in trouble, that's it. You're worse than any of THEM. Rove doesn't work on HIS campaign. And these sorts are permitted to vote. Talk to you at the end of 4 years.

What sends a cold chill down my body is Cindy and Sarah! McCain voted against the troop funding also, did they conveniently forget to leave this fact out?
McCain has consistently voted against improving veterans' care and against better benefits, yet he's voted with Bush on giving corporate welfare to the rich! What a swine!
Need any more proof the republicans are racists?
Stoking fear and saying, "he's not one of us"!
What the hell does that mean if it isn't racist?
Republican fear mongering!!!!!!
Old fart McCain has one foot in the grave anyway!
Obama paid 800k to Acorn (who he trained) to go out and get illegal votes. One guy they paid with cigs to vote 72 times.
Keating five, MCain was found not guilty fyi.

There is so much more wrong with Obama but people like you will scream racist and he is protected by the media so even getting it all out is hard. McCain is showing more class and restraint than most people would.

Did any of you even READ the article? Or only the headline? This article is about how John McCain calmed down an angry crowd by saying that he disagrees with Obama, but that Obama is a decent man, a family man, and that voters should not be afraid of him.

I know this is new territory to some of you on this thread, but this is called being respectful. John McCain urged his supporters to fight for what they believe in, but to do it with respect.

John McCain is ethical, and he has class.

Them? Yeah we'll talk after 4 years of Obama. propably going to be 8 years though. McCain will go live out his years in secluded retirement. Palin will go back to relative obscurity where she belongs.
