Wrightsville drops sex-offender ordinance

Once again the minority is ruling the majority through fear and intimidation.

HELLO! maybe Manchester should lead on this one. This was another crazy idea of Mel Mcdonald, Sharon young and Dawn Lindeman. NOW LOOK! once again wrightsville has MUD on it's face. Oh we should also note special THANKS to the firm of Stock and Leader for the way thier attorney was looking to make them some more money. I do believe all the jokes about attorney may be true.

Especially Stock & Leader, I'm one of the unusual ones who managed to F@k them back in return once though, cost em' about $11,000.........:

Hell with it, just turn the whole country over to criminals.

What is in the water down in that town? I first seen this on the ABC 27news report last night. It looked to me like they are on a witch hunt only the town spokesman looked more like the witch, Sharon sombody? what kind of people raised her?? after I heard all she said I feel she must have been raised by wolves. I pitty the people of Wrightsville that have leaders like her.

welcome to WrightsHell..... that is all you can say about this town anymore. We are becoming the laughing stock of the state... I thought they were trying to beautify the town and make people want to live here, sure doesn't seem like it.... But hey they let a Sex Offender run the town so why not right? What a joke!

I am sure Mel and Sharon are working on the next episode. What stupid idea will they think of next?

Wow all the money spent on this with hardly no discussion in a public setting and now there may be no ordinance as a result of public discussion. Why not have the discussion before the money to write an ordinance is spent? Oh I forgot Mel and Sharon are running the show here.

So what if the 1000 ft from a school would mean that only (1) sex offender could live in that town. That is (1) too many. They chose their lifestyle, let them find other means of housing somewhere else. There is alot of history in that old town and the residents need to try and preserve it, the best they can. Forget about a posssible lawsuit, or ask the presiding judge if he wants someone living next door to him and his children or grandchildren, with that type of criminal background.

what about drug dealers? We should definitely keep them out also. Drunk drivers can be added to the list and people that break the speed limit. All represent threats to our children. Keep them all out.

Good point! It just goes to show that more thought and community input is needed before council goes and spends our hard earned money on ordinances that could do more harm than good. I know there are a few on council that are actually listening. To the women, WAKE UP and get your heads out of your rearends! Start listening to us, we put you there, you were NOT commissioned by GOD to exert your POWER over us. Stop wasting our time and money on your personal attacks and start showing us some accountability!

Speaking of WOMEN and PERSONAL ATTACKS I had the pleasure of witnessing the Sharon Young screaming, ranting, raging hissy fit leashed on councilman Neil Habecker outside the building after the Sept meeting? Sex offender laws that tell were a sex offender can or can not live have been studied by many groups. All the studies todate show that this type of law does nothing to protect anyone. It is a feel good law! However it may cause the public at a greater risk in that the sex offender is moved away from the help of family and special groups that work with sex offenders to get away from this type of activity.

what does it matter how close they live the posibility is still there, what is 1000 feet? if they are gonna do it they are gonna do it, it doesn't matter if they are 500 ft or 1001 ft away. some of those on the offender list are very sorry for their actions and some are not. i feel it should depend on the intensity of their crime. i do not believe any of their actions are right and i watch my child with an eagle eye but you cannot condemn everyone... we all make mistakes, again there are huge differences between some of these offenders, that some are reformed and never ever do the crime again and others are on the prowl for the next victim, again what does the distance matter - i am more concerened with all the burglaries and harrassment stories i keep hearing- look at that older couple who have had their home broken into 4 TIMES- you can't say they can't live in your town, where are they gonna live because no one wants them in their town, what if they are your family or a friend - if you know they are there and they are following the law by registering then they should be allowed there- you can't hide from everyone - if so you might as well never leave your home

These people (sexual offenders) need to be drop shipped to an island in the middle of the Pacific. They have no way off the island. Let them do what they want to each other. Then the next one convicted can be dropped there until there are no more here. Eventually, they will all die out.

That was just Sharon prepping for Halloween. She's riding a broom. Her little goblins Mel and Eddie will be there too. Wrightsville is very scary. M-m-o-o-o-o-o-o-h-a-a-a-h-a-a- a-a !!!!
