Three cheers for the proposed drag strip! York hasn't been the same since U.S. 30 Dragway closed years ago. Show some support for this folks...

This will bring the hot white women too.

If this is an 1/8 mile dragstrip, please do not waste your time. We need a 1/4 mile in the area!!

I think it would be an awesome idea! A dragstrip is not like a dirt track, its not a constant noise, trash laying around after a race, or dust stirred up, you'll still have that country feel to it! I think its a GREAT idea!

we think its a great idea. it will help get the street racers off the street and provide a safe place for them to race. think of the money it will bring to the local area.we are all for it.hope its a 1/4 mile.

Well that is just what we need. Destroy 34 acres in the name of more money. But also destroy the surrounding area with the pollution.

|
Well US30 Dam sure didn't take any thing away it brought money into the york county and srounding are.SO I say this to Susanne Sardino and Joseph Tyler,If you don't like it move.

Sounds like a great idea to me. Many more people will get enjoyment out of that land as a drag strip than they would otherwise. As for the neighbors? Why not invest in a drag car? You won't even need to trailer it.
|
|
You sir, are aptly named. |
|
|
If this thing is built, then compensate the neighbors financially. They should receive a portion of the profits from the business and compensation for the lwoering of their land values.
Look, these people moved to this area well before a drag strip was ever considered. They had expectations that they would enjoy the same quality of life for their time in these homes. If the township and developers wish to take that away, then they need to pay out significant $$$ for that privilege. |
|
Can we move a drug rehab house or a criminal halfway house next door to you? Would you just move or complain? |

Most of the folks who posted the comments here don't even live in Washington Township so won't be affected by this anyway. We do and think it is the worst thing that could happen to the area. What with the awful noise and pollution that would affect the entire township and the nearby quaint town of East Berlin. It would devastate the quality of life of the people in this rural residential area.

I guess they're building a drag strip in Annadale, VA. too. Who knew?!?

You would think the people leaving comments would realize that the city and state do not coincide with where we live, for some odd reason.
I oppose the drag strip too, this is a beautiful, rural area and has its own lifestyle. A drag strip and all those other ventures would alter it drastically. NO DRAG STRIP...find your hot women elswhere. |

Suggestion: Purchase an obsolete aircraft carrier. 1/4 mile track, off catapults. After all cars have run. Sink the carrier with all race fans in at least 500 feet of water. Make sure there are not enough life boats, as per the Titanic.
I remember Rt. 30 Dragway quite vividly. Could hear the horrible noise miles away. And the frickin' idiots that attended were real greaseballs. They raced to and from the drag strip. Real huge money maker for the area...mainly the local police departments. Thought we were through with this money losing proposition, once and for all. |

I found out if you have not registered in the YDR Topix group, your location shows up as the ISP's main location. But I definitely have an East Berlin mailing address! And I still think that the drag strip would still absolutely ruin this beautiful area!

My name is Nathan Baker 13 I am a neighbor of the small airport that wll hopefully not be come a drag strip. I mow the run-way and around the proerty. I can look out my bedroom window and see the airportand i dont want to have to wake up looking at walls to block the noise. Or on the weekend listening to the drag-strip. There is going to be a lot of pullotion and people up all hours of the night because there is suppoesaly going to be camping there too. I think it would be nice if it would stay a small quite air-port instead of a large and loud drag strip.
NO DRAG-STRIP!!!!!!!!!! |
