Hey Crafton, how much of the $350,000.00 are you and the other Klansmen going to pay?
What are you guys really up to, Crafton? |

We should also get to vote on "press 1 to continue in English". It should automatically go to English.

We live in American, and English speaking nation. If we moved to another country, we would be required to learn their native tongue. Why are we any different?

I think this is AWESOME and bout time someone came forward, the issue has been getting out of hand.
Because we have the Bill of Rights. |
I'm glad we get the chance to vote on English First. I believe if you decide to
move to a place where u dont speak the lang you must learn before u are given anytype of job or assistance. If i moved to Mexico i would learn the lang before i go.I wouldn't expect the people of Mexico to learn my lang after i go there.I certainly wouldn't expect help if i entered their country illegal. |

We are in America!! English should be the only language - There should be no voting on it.

WOO HOO!!!!!
You're an idiot. Tell me where, in the Bill of Rights does it address a native language? MORON |
The English language is this country's
language of choice. If you come here from some other country, you need to learn this country's language. |
Wait and see if this bill pass, what is next? Let the ones who want to come to our country learn OUR lanuage. I'm sick of hearing about there rights. Until we take our country back and STOP letting just everyone into our country, this will be just the beginning of a list of problems to come. English being one, our school are already so overcrowed, jobs should be for American first, and the list goes on and on. We already gives way to much money to other countries, now we spend even more on foreigns in our own country. When does it stop?

5TH and the 14th amendments. Strict scrutiny. 1964 Civil Rights act. discrimination based on national origin. Go look those terms up and see what they say to you. Did you not have HS civics? |
and why do you sign your comments "MORON"? |
we are an english speaking nation but we also open our doors up to all and if we do that we have to allow everyone a chance to vote, not shun them from voting if so we are not better than the country they are native from

As I see it.......
IF you live in The United States, born here then the language is: English NO NEED TO VOTE and spend money doing so. There is NO NEED for an option of what language is to be first.... English is. IF you immigrate to The United States and make this your home... then you need to make an attempt to learn "English". If you cannot learn or will not learn ( big difference here) then there are always helpful people at business each day to assist you. In my employment, I do this each day. We must all be helpful & "get along" with each other it matters not where anyone came from, what matters greatly is that we are all here living around each other. * By the way all the name calling on here is a great sign of No Education and really unneccessary. Thank you, Cathy |

if the whiney @$$ politicians would have let the people VOTE on this like they overwhelmingly showed they wanted it wouldnt be costing us an extra $350K
this is a prime example of big government not representing the very people they are elected to serve and OMY? if they cant learn english? then why is it I should have to pay for their translator when they go to court for speeding? for not paying their bills? this isnt about them VOTING, its about MY (and your) tax $$ going to provide services for lazy whiners that canr or wont take the time to learn the language of the contry they CLAIM they want to live in if I move to mexico, I dont expect them to learn english for me |

The American Indian was here before we came, yet they had to learn the white man's language. Since the discovery of America, English has always been the primary language. French, Chinese, and all other nationalities have moved to America and had to learn the American language, so why shouldn't people from Mexico learn also. If they want to stay here like everyone else has, they should be made to learn the American language, ENGLISH! If we had to move to their country, we wouldn't get free food, places to live, welfare and other help from them, like they get from us. Everyday people from America have to struggle from day to day, while the illegal Mexicans get welfare and drive expensive cars and get our jobs and are illegal in our country. When is this going to stop?! If a person is from another country here legally, then I have no problem with them. It is the ones that are illegal and expect us to hand them everything on a silver platter that I have a problem with. How about giving a break to the legal American people? We were here first!

Violates none of those things, and does not discriminate against origin. I did not see anything in the Bill of rights that says we have to hold the hands of those who come here by choice. |

If you want to move here learn to speak with us, and become a part of our community, do not come here refusing to learn to communicate with us, make demands on us, and be a strain to the community.

Thanks for the history lesson. It is interesting how little you guys have to say about the English only bill and how much you have to say about Mexicans. That is my problem with the bill. It comes across as just an excuse to discrimniate against people based on their national origin. You say you don't mind legal immigrants, but what if they can't speak English, yet? They have the same burden as the illegals, then? Isn't that a violation of the equal protection clause of the Constitution? This bill probably will get passed and then it will be challenged in court and then that may drag out for years and years and cost a fortune, and make us look like a bunch of hillbillies. Crafton knows that, and that is why I wonder what is his real agenda? Is he just another David Duke racist? I don't have any answers except for myself, so you guys come back at me and educate me. |
