Judge it!The dress is not even appropriate for a Red Carpet event. Red Carpet events are usually formal attire. This outfit (cannot call it a dress) is inappropriate unless you are a hooker looking for work.This child's mother should have told her NO when she wanted to wear that to the prom. It might be okay for a red carpet but I would never allow my daughter to wear it to a prom.

You're assuming this "young lady" can read. I'm sure they brought up the matter of the "dress code agreement" when she was being refused entry into the prom. She claims she didn't understand why she wasn't being allowed into the prom, which leads me to believe she's either a) illterate, and couldn't read the agreement, or b) yet another spoiled, social misfit, loud-mouthed brat who thinks the world is her private Burger King and she should always "have it her way". |
I have not read one racial comment. The words used do not indicate a racial comment in any fashion and would have been used regardless of the color of the individual. The dress is something you would see on the streets where people go to buy sex and drugs. Even the super stars have better taste than that. Why every time a story comes out that involves a black individual the race card is pulled out. Get off the stoop of racism and take the comments for what they are. You are the only person and obviously by your post name you are black. Ever thought the girl just looks like a tramp. Just look at the dress not the color of her skin. If she was white the same comments would have been made. |

Just looked at the video, and I agree that dress is way to skimpy, but then again she is looking at some of her role modles such as JLo and the rest everyone these days lets everything out nothing left... I wouldn't have let her in the prom either.

She is very attractive! However,where was her parents when dressed to leave the house.they should have stopped her. Kids today get their information on fashion and social skills from the news media, and they are also responsible for this kind of behavior in young kids.

I'm a father of two daughters, 31 and 28 years old. African American. They would have never left the house looking like that. However, this young lady is very attractive and wants everyone to see that.My question is, where were the parents when she left home to go to her Prom? When the TV Media glorify's Britany Spears and Paris Hilton almost nightly on our TV sets, this is the kind of message that they are putting into the heads of our kids and grand kids. So, parents stop complaining and start being better parents, by unplugging the TV and the internet.

Well,#1, you are comparing a professionally written article to comments on a message board. Apples to oranges. #2, yep, Paris looks like a Ho there, too. If you want my opinion, Paris is queen "ho". No color barriers here #3, Paris and JLo are over the age of 18 and beyond parental and/or school supervision. This girl is a minor, going to a school-sponsored event, who needed to follow school rules, and did not. |

Actually, I believe there were a couple racial comments; the blatant ones were removed by the Topix administrators. Nevertheless, this girl looked like a 100% "hooch" or street prostitute in that dress, and invited being called some of the names she has been called here. |

This girl has a nice body and a pretty face,this dress is not for a Senior Prom. Senior Proms are for the students to be elegant and classy,this dress is not elegant or classy.I wish I could wear it myself,I actually like the dress. I'm a 44 year old professional and mother of one. I would not allow my daugther out of the house in it,but I would wear it in the bedroom for my husband (easy access to the goodies).

This is a disgrace that are parents are letting these teens walk out the house wearing something like this. I don't blame the school not one bit, she should have known better than that,I can't even discribe how she made me as a parent feel she looked a hot mess and needs to be delivered.

I called her a hoochie because of the dress and the fact that she thought it was appropriate to wear to a prom. If it was a white girl, I would have said the same thing about a tricking mother and an absent father because there are some serious parental issues there. Everybody is stereotyped in one way or another. I made no mention of her race, you made it a racial issue and that's the problem. |

She is an adult and the event is not a high school prom. The girl knew there was a dress code and still thought she should wear it. She was asking for trouble. |
