I know at least one officer so im not staking claim on his side, but i also would be very very cautious about what this "victim" claims.
This guy had numerous run in's with Police and it wasnt just Derby, he has multiple convictions for threatening, breach of peace, probation violations, violations of protective orders, resisting arrest, criminal trespassing. So there may be more to what happened then the obvious.

Well I guess its everywhere. Not just New Haven, Hamden, West HAven, Milford, Cheshire etc.... All cops are scum. They hide behind their badges and guns and they think they can do what ever they want to who ever they want with no consequences.$15,000. Thats it??????Thats a shame. It probably didnt even cover his dr bills meds and lost time from work. And who ever said it , its a good thing he moved to Fl because i would bet that these cops would be after him and they would let Ansonia cops know and they would watch for him and Orange etc..... I am sorry no individual deserves to get beat by anyone. Especially a cop who is supposed to be respected. Well you have to earn respect. I could care less if you have a badge on, your no better than anyone. I hope these cops got fired. With no pay no pension no nothing.
don't forget his attorney will take 33% of that 15k

Seriously people.is anyone really suprised by this? I mean, Derby is a town that lived and died by what happens on a football field. The monsters that are created and ultimately hired for Derby's finest were created when they were in high school.
After graduation, most of these buffoons were not exactly college material, and so Derby takes care of it's own. For those who are not watering Ryan Field, you might have an "in" at the police station. The aggressive attitude and the arrogance is just trying to re-live the past. I guess it's time to tell the Napoleons like Gino that the glory days are over...All the cool sunglasses and angry scowlels at passing traffic during road jobs won't change that.

The sad thing is is that Gino never had any "Glory Days". I am not sure if he ever played football, although I don't think so. He did play basketball for St. Mary's, and that was because the entire 7th and 8th grade class boys were on the team. He is a loser. He always was, and he always will be. It must be pretty funny to see him trying to make angry scowls at passing traffic. To me he always just looked like an ugly bulldog anyway.

This seems to have turned into the "Bashing Gino DiMauro" page. I like it!!!

I don't get it, he is such and **** hole. I just may be prejudice, I have known Gino since 5th grade, and I can't stand him.(Please, no italians take offense at this) He is the stereotypical guinea. He always has been a scumbag and always will be. The best way to describe him is typical Derby.

My parents told me about this blog and after reading it I felt that I had to say something. Officer Dimauro was my school resource officer and my younger brother's DARE teacher. He was always helpful to every student and was well liked by the entire school.I felt so bad when I read all the things that one person (appalled1) was writing, maybe he (appalled1)just does not have any friends. My parents and I support Officer Dimauro and all of the Derby Police officer's and respect the job that they do.

I also went to school with Gino. I liked him back then and like him even more as an adult and Officer now. To hear a couple of people talk bad about him upsets me. I do no know that many people who have a dislike for Gino. He is one of the most likeable, happiest and funniest people that I know. His entire fanily is that way. I hope readers do not judge him by what a couple of unahppy people write.

No, we're judging him because he's a bad police officer who BEAT someone. Not a good person, obviously. He should go to prison.

I also went to school with Gino and have nothing good to say about him. He is a snobby scumbag. If you did not fit into his crowd, you were worth less than the dirt beneath his shoes. His father was the same way. And Gino Jr though he was super hot **** because his father was the mayor. The only person that didn't take his crap was his grandmother. As I stated in my previous posts, I knew his grandmother also. She was the nicest lady in the world. Go and talk to most of the nursing staff and administrators at Griffin's ER, and most of them will tell you of the Gino DiMauro that was a sexist pig. Then tell me how nice of a guy Gino is. Some people may still like him, but I don't and he deserves everything that he gets. It's about time someone knocks him off his pedistal and he has to face reality. Being a cop in Derby is not really a reality. Maybe Gino should try going to be a cop in a real city and then let's see how tough he is.

Well, everything that I have written is the truth. If you don't like to hear others opinions, then you shouldn't be reading a blog. I have known Gino DiMauro for over 20 years and don't have a nice thing to say about him. He may be a great school officer because he is almost 35 years old and is still on the same mentality level as any middle school or high school kid.

Oh, and by the way, I do support the Derby police officers that deserve to be on the force. I support police officers in general, as I have a family member who is a police officer. I just don't support hot shot police officers who abuse their title.

I agree with chris i have seen some of Appalled1's posts and i am APPALLED at what they wrote. Appaled1 is a bully who has grudges on people for certain reasons and cant let them go (prob the no friends, picked on my the popular kids, or just freaking arrogant or annoying) One of the most disturbing posts I read that they wrote was about the Petit family it was as if they had some personal grudge aganist the family and thought they were in no way entitled or deserved the attention the tragic murder of a nice charitable family got. Bitter? They don't even know that family and was bitching about the press they got as if they are paris hilton or so dumb celebutiod competeting for who can flash the press the most and get the most headlines. Grow up and maybe someday something bad prob not even 1,000 times worse as what that family went through will happen to you lets see how hypocrocitcal you are then...they had the nerve though to defend a construction accident where a man fell down a shaft which is tragic but it is an accident afterall that the worker knew of the dangers when signing up for the job. Appalled1 actually compared the Petit murder with the construction worker case (she was biast cuz her husband was a plummer) and whining like a bratty child about how this man didnt get as much attention as the Petits because last week Mr. Petit got press for having a 5k run to honor the year anniversary of the murder and to raise money for MS and various other charities (OMG HE IS SO UNDESERVING...SO UNNEWSWORTHY) let me guess its only cuz he was well-off and had money right? WRONG! They actually had the nerve to scold someone one the post saying have some respect for the dead well take your own advice you hypocrite and stop tarnishing and picking on a dead family...dont take your anger and frustration out on undeserving others go out do something stop whining on your computer you lazy freaking adult if you want to have the right to complain on a site and have people take you seriously you need to be a person something you need to work on whatever your personal issues are learn to do good not take them out on others that have done better than you if you want respect for one dead person you better give it to all dead people...you are like cellifane we can see right through you! You are the problem in America people who complain and do nothing and still want people to listen to them and take them serious do us a favor move to hollywood or france or something...PLEASE!

I think the petit family tradgedy got too much publicity. If it was my sons or daughters I would have never had this much attention. My family is in crisis about something and I bent over backwards to get help and no one wanted to know anything, no one wanted to help or no one wants to help. I am so sick of hearing about this family it makes me sick. Apaulled has every right to post what ever they want to. Just as you and I do. You know what my mohter has COPD, emphysema, a bad back which she has 13 operations on she has been hospitalized I cant tell you how many and she needs help and care and peoples good wishes and what does she get NOTHING. I even asked Ann Nyberg to help me out and I got nothing. No reply even. So dont bark about people posting and what they say. The petits have got more than enough attention already. Get over it.

Again, I am not going to repost your entire rant, because it is just tedious. And again, I am going to tell you, I have nothing against the Petit family. Go read your other ranting post for a response to that. As for this particular issue, I have posted my feelings and opinions. That is what these forums are for. This is a place to put in your 2 cents, and that is what I have done. If you read my posts and this story, I have said nothing about the other Officer that was involved, as I don't know him. I have voice my opinion of Officer DiMauro, and don't feel the need to defend myself or my opinions. If you don't like what I wrote, don't read it!
To Jerk and Jgc, I appreciate your support.
