and glastonbury police chief too.
Do they teach these guys this stuff in police chief school?
Many police chiefs go bad when the power goes to their head. I couldn't wait to retire from the PD I worked for (in CT) as the chief was (and still is) totally out of control. He is actually holding the department back as morale is shot and nobody gives a **** about anything there. The officers report for duty, do the minimum amount of work, then go home and don't want to be bothered until their next shift. There is no enthusiasm for the job. That's too bad as there are good officers there but the chief has destroyed their enthusiasm. Just about everybody is waiting for him to retire so there will at least be change in the department. He plays good politics with the politicians in town so the majority don't bother him. Others realize that change is needed but can't get the support to force him out by cutting his pay or imposing some control over him through the police commission. He feeds the police commission a pack of lies and they go along with it. The department is shot!
