Its funny. Ansonia Cant or refuse to find out the officers who were involved in the theft of 25,000 from their own evidence safe, but they arrest a highly decorated officer for a 25.00 hose.
Something smells very bad here.

It seems the police department has an axe to grind.
I would think that a petty theft like this, would have been handled by some type of administrative reprimand.

Lots of racists here! Many workplaces ban beards but, will allow them based on medical/religious reasons. Obviosly the officer was in the right.

Just because he is black dosen't make him a criminal and just because he is a muslim dosen't make him a terrorist.

We are talking about a cheap garden hose that never left the premises. Odds are it was never stolen. Even if it was we are talking about a cheap hose and a decorated cop and a matter that should stay internal.

Calling the state police in to investigate a garden hose is a waste of taxpayer dollars!

if he stole the hose he deserves internal punishment.

If he is innocent I hope he sues and wins against the Ansonia police department.

He is one of the best officers Ansonia has ever had. Kevin should be digging deeper into the department!!! The Lieutenants and Sgt's get away with murder. They have raided homes without proper warrants. They have stolen property from those homes and claim they never taken anything. How about the sexual misconduct that they get away with? Cheating on thier wives with women they pull over or get a call to thier home. I hope he gets off and blows the lid off the depatment on these things that were mentioned!!!

NAACP by its nature is racist because it excludes white people. The guy made a choice to become a cop, which requires him to look professional. If he was so concerned about wearing a beard get a different job!

I agree with most of what you said, but I can't help but disagree with the above. If you are going to apply for a job, you need to understand what is going to be asked of you first...They should all have to follow the same standard. Why couldn't he explain to his place of worship that he needs to shave his beard for his job..and have them make the exception. The problem nowadays is that everyone thinks they are special and should not have to follow the rules like the rest of us.

An investigation for a $25 hose is out-of-control...

From what I just learned from the APD, all he has to do is say he found it and if they can not prove that he knew it was stolen, there will be no arrest.
