Good luck, Tim.
I hope that you and your friends get this thing to come to fruition.
P.S.- If Gov. Rell shows up for the tourney, make sure you are all wearing helmets.

Good luck to those involved! I hope they get what they want and they should be an inspiration to others!

Watch out for the uptight neighbors.... You may cause them distress and they will cry out and complain that some kids are having some good wholesome fun.
Then they will file suit against you to recoup the cost of there high priced therapy sessions for them to over come the fact that the kids are playing WIFFLE BALL!!!!!!! I guess they would rather give the kids Ritalin and sit them inform of a TV playing video games. |

Good for him. Nice to see a kid making a difference in spite of being put down by the MAN (Greenwich snobs).

Good luck to all the kids involved in this. I think as a kicker they should name it the Betty Pate Invitational and the trophy should be a replica of a security camera. Have a great time with this guys!

Awesome idea! I'd support that too! |

It is so nice to hear of teenagers doing something constructive with their time rather than finding trouble (REAL TROUBLE) to get into. Isn't summer about marathon wiffle ball games, swimming, hot dogs and ice cream? It was when I was growing up. I admire their initiative and wish them the best of luck!!
Shame on the cranky neighbors who made them tear it down! I hope one ever treats your children or grandchildren like this! |
|
Good Idea! I'd be willing to contribute to that also. |

These kids are awesome. So refreshing after so much in the news about the losers from New Haven or the idiots that let their kids fall out windows. I like the fact that they are not letting the other idiots in their town bring them down, I have an idea...after the tournament have a parade of all the players and have it stop outside the whiney neighbor's house for a pro-wiffle ball rally. A nice LOUD rally.

Well I sure hope that the town's officials see fit to field a team of their own to play these teenagers--that should sell a great many tickets to see such a thing (and you'd better check the town officials bats to make sure that they're legal--you can't be too careful). And since none of them were around back in 1983, and would recall the George Brett (KC Royals) pine tar incident, make sure that the umpire checks the town official bats for that too.

Great Idea! Count me in as well! Good luck with the game and I hope you all can finally get a place to play and enjoy being kids! |

What a great way for him to channel his energy. At least he's not out there stealing from and killing his peers!!

"Good to see this kid didn't give up. I would love to hear about inner-city kids taking the initiative to do something similar"
Would you venture into the inner city to attend a wiffle ball contest. Plus hmmmI know I don't live in the inner city but I don't ever hear about a Polo Club in the inner city...and if the people had the resources to be a member of a social club I doubt that they would live in the urban areas of satmford, Bridgeport, New haven and etc... |

1 By the way, don't know about a polo club, but New Haven does have a Yacht Club... |

Well stated. Everyone has the potential, fewer have the initiative. There's just too many followers waiting for someone else to make things happen. |

What a spoiled brat, the child of spoiled brats. He thinks he can do anything he darn well pleases because Mommy and Daddy never taught him to respect anyone else. Phooey. I'm sure he'll turn out to be a great attorney or CEO someday, the arrogant ones do. In the meantime, leave people in peace to enjoy their own properties!

1 Phooy. These kids have no respect for anyone, and obviously from most of the comments most of society is all about themselves and has no respect for anyone else. If I wanted to hear screaming and yelling I'd build next to a stadium. I don't. How can you possilby argue that it's OK to ANYTHING to property that isn't yours????? I don't care HOW constructive an activity is, you can't teach children that it's somehow OK to decide that because you simply want something you can take it. That's the bottome line. |
