Why would you need windshield washer fluid heated anyways? I thought it didn't freeze.

It doesnt, unless of course you've watered it down.

Heating it would allow it to melt the ice better so you dont have to scrape it off. ordinary fluid, once sprayed on ice usually ends up freezing (somewhat) with the ice.

Also, on very cold days, washer fluid will freeze in a thin layer once sprayed on the window and wiped across it. I would think heating it would reduce this. Also once you have your car warmed up and the heat going, this should no longer happen anyway because your windshield heats up from the heat in the car.

And they wonder why no one buys American. My last American car was a GMC, which was a piece of junk. The dealership where I bought it from was even worse. No more American cars for me. Just bought a new Nissan and a Honda.

People look good in Hondas pulling into the unemployment office...

Jap cars are good on gas because they are light. As soon as they try to make a bigger vehicle the milage goes down like any other auto maker. Put a bunch of weight in your little car and watch the engine failures you will have.

Yeah but unfortunately they (jap) cars are more reliable and even if the American cars are now made more reliable once you have had a bad one that's it they have lost a customer.

My last Honda went 310,000 miles with very little trouble. Never got that from a chevy. I quit buying domestics in the 80's when the last chevy started losing paint in year one and GM nor the dealer would cover it. I soon traded it for a Honda and never looked back and never will look back. Besides most GMs look the same and are horse butt ugly.

I am convinced it is all in how you treat and maintain your vehicle. I have a 8 year old Chevie Venture, high mileage, used as a work van. I have tried to maintain it as the book indicates. It still runs as good as it did the day I bought it, 22mpg. Prior to that I had a 93 Plymouth Sundance, that thing went over 300,000 miles with no problems what so ever.

The Big 3 auto makers in Detroit are tanking. Gee, I wonder why? They haven't changed one iota in their thinking, both in design and market demand. I hope they go down it flames big time especially GM. They deserve it.

I'd sing their praises too if I'd overpaid mucho $ for a German piece of dung. Check out the JD Powers site and be amazed how chevy, buick, cadillac, ford, mercury, lincoln and EVEN HYUNDAI have fewer problems than BMW.

My old 3.8 Liter chevy did 350k until I sold the thing, May I add it had no major work done to it. Its all in how you drive and maintain your car.
