I don't want to sound cold but he saved the tax payers a bundle, not to mention himself a long prision term. I can only hope the family and friends of Ms. Amanda Realie can find some closure or peace of mind from this, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Im sure they will find somewhere else for our taxes to go, Good riddens.....

The whole thing is sad. The murder, his suicide but at least the taxpayers are not stuck paying for a trial and incareceration. I hope the children recover emotionally.

you are a very blessed woman. the inmate was mentally challenged and had no control over his own mind. the dept of correction didn't fail the inmate. the state of connecticut and UCONN did.
garner ci is not a mental health hospital but a prison. i hope the inmate's family members hire themselves a good lawyer and sue the state,UCONN and the dept of correction. even though i believe UCONN is to receive most,if not all the blame.
i hope you take a very good look at your quote. because, you might find a family member who might need mental health treatment and it is a sure bet that if your family member comitted a crime beyond his mental control, you might find him locked up at garner ci.,and might find him swinging from a state issued linen bed sheet.

Wow stargate those are some harsh words. I think that if he were mentally unstable they would have found that out before they locked him up. If he were so unstable why did you not fight for him then so he could get help? No lets wait until he murders someone and them come up with the mental issues. Everyone has everyright to make the comments they do. You have the right to not log onto this website. Don't try to impose your upstanding morals on the rest of the world.
