Let's see Peoples Bank lost mine, the state unemployment lost mine, chances they have mine here too.

I have my debit card replaced every year and also cancel and replace my only credit card once a year also because of just this type of thing. You have to be pro active and protect yourself from the scum of the world.

Thanks to this disfunctional, over-rated technology..........we might as well walk around with ALL our personal on our bodies for ALL to see..........

How will we find out? Do shop at some of those places but haven't seen signs of trouble on my credit card but....how will we be notified if our credit is in jeopardy?

I bet the 3 US citizens were living in CT just trying to get money to pay their state tax bill. No harm in that.

How is it that this has become such a huge crime?These slugs are all over the world stealing from people. It's unbelievable how widespread this type of crime is. They just sit home on their computers and steal info and identities to have a field day with. Why don't they just surf porn like the rest of us?

I shopped at some of those places-they don't give a time frame though do they? I put life lock on my accounts a few months ago.

Credit card theft will not be agressively prosecuted because the credit card companies still make their money. It has happened to me during the Marshalls thing a while ago and thank god my credit card company called me to ask if I was purchasing a flat screen tv, which I was not. It is a major inconvenience for the person that got their indentity stolen but it is a MINOR inconvenience for the credit card company.

It may be old-fashioned, but CASH RULES!

What could be the proper penalty for this type of crime? I would like 10 minutes alone in a room with a piece of crap that would do this. Doesn't mater size, shape, age or race. We wouldn't have to worry about them doing it again because they wouldn't be able to pick their nose, nevermind use a keyboard.

I agree.. I'd also like to meet the jerks that make viruses that not only steal your info but ruin your computer
