OMG, that is outrages, and all she gets is 18 years! She must have struck some kind of plea bargin, as she deserves LIFE.

Didn't the parents realize she was pregnant? Even if she wore baggy clothes etc., if she was living at home, someone had to have a clue she was. Or was this a case of TOTAL denial on all parts of the family? If we ignore it, it will go away?

I know, people are going to say she was young and scared, well TUFF, she still committed MURDER! No sympathy from me!!

Let's see, carrying full term, then destroying a little baby, accidental?, no.
deliberate?, yes.
Life sentence ?, Of course, why pay taxes to keep this waste product alive?
Looks like an excellent reason for capital punishment to be carried out in less than a month. Some wishes unfortunately not come true.

I use to go to school with Panna. When I heard what was going on I was in total shock! How can someone give birth and then seconds later take the life of her own child?! Panna's personality was never mean or violent! She carried her self well and lived a normal teenage life! I would of considered her a good friend of mine! But hearing this makes me sad to say I ever knew her! Panna deserves any punishment that comes her way for taking the life of a precious innocent soul! God Bless the little one for the pain his/her soul indured and may he/she rest in peace.

This is yet more proof how totally f*cked up our laws are in this state. That little b*tch took the life of an innocent baby, and all she gets is 18 months???? What they should do with the little b*tch is chain an anchor to her ankles, take her out into Long Island Sound, and drop her overboard. Let her drown like the baby did.

I hope the pink panty wearing liberals are happy tonight.

She was only 16. My 16 yr old granddaughter is not allowed to be home alone Who can guess what she was thinking. I am sure that what she needed was more support from family or father of baby. I am a frim believer in pro life but we should not be too quick to judge what this girl was thinking or doing

What if she had late termed the kid, no one would care? I get the punishment and realize this girl will suffer every holiday, every school day, every day for that matter. 18 years. If she decided to terminate her pregnancy she would have no repercussions ( other than herself and her god, God,G-D). I am upset and hurt like everyone here, but where have we drawn the line at outrage? How many weeks?Months? Minutes post partum ?

I agree with you but unfortunately this is a typical case of lack of parental supervision .My daughters are 25 , 22 and 14 and trust me I do know when there is something out of ordinary or are pregnant without them telling me you notice the eating habits sleeping to much desire for particular foods crankiness etc .From my knowledge my oldest have kids and my 14 soon to be 15 is not even sexually active and that's the way it should be period trust me I KNOW! so I'm just wondering what was the mother into when she didn't notice no change in her daughter ?sad ,sad ,sad when you have females you should have 50 eyes on them

It's one thing to be a scared pregnant teenager, afraid to tell her parents about being pregnant, afraid of the future, but to choose to drown a helpless child is murder!! I'm sure there are programs where she could of went to discuss the pregnancy, and/or adoption procedures. She decided to choose death for her own child, a child who didn't ask to be born. Any punishment she gets, she deserves.

What could possibly bring a young mother to do such a tragic thing? All I can think about is all the families out there who want children and can't have them....

kids having kids, keep chasing that money parents. Get that McManson and have the need for a two person income. Have kids and leave them at home to raise themselves with their friends and internet connection. Then wonder why kids have no direction.

What in the world are you talking about? Are you trying to say that the breakdown is having two working parents? If so, it's not so much to buy "McMansions" and all of that, it's a necessity for the majority of people out there. I'm not sure if you've been paying attention or not, but the *necessities* of life aren't cheap anymore!

Alot of people live above their means. And no it's not the answer just a common observation. "Gotta have what the next guy has, just better" mentality

Nothing can excuse her behavior however, her parents didn't know what was going on? Where is the father of the baby? If this girl was 16 and giving birth she had to have been underage when pregnant..If we prosecuted more of these irresponsible fathers there would be fewer of these incidents!

Irresponsible fathers? How do we even know he was older than her? What if he was the same age? It's not illegal for two 15 year olds to have sex. Maybe she kept it from him, too. Not all girls show when they're pregnant. Some don't even know till they hit labor. We just don't have enough facts to blame anyone but the girl right now. She straight up murdered that baby and she can think about it for the next 18 years.

The ONLY she"ll "Suffer" on the holiday"s is that she"s Not Free to enjoy them.I certainly doubt that she"ll be thinking about the baby she murdered. It sure didn"t bother her to hold its little head in the toilet until it drowned,Did it?
