Having been one of those dozen families that made a long 2 hour drive from NY to see this event, I will never buy another Disney product again. My kids cried most of they way home...Thanks, Disney.

Wow. What a bad idea on Disney's part. Not only should people get refunds of their tickets (and the no doubt ridiculously expensive service charge) but they should get some sort of bonus refund like tickets to Disneyworld or a giftcard to their store. There should have been a Disney rep standing in that parking lot giving out something if sufficient notice was not given.

I'm sure Walt Disney is rolling over in his grave !!
All he ever wanted was to bring joy and happiness
to children and adults alike. Now they have turned the whole thing into money and screw the public !!

Actually, it is pretty tough to turn over because those caskets are very confining! I'm afraid you are stuck on your back!

Disney dropped the ball big time on this but I do have a few comments based on the other posts I've read. If I'm embarking on a long trip I'm checking news, weather, traffic etc. right before I leave. This story was on the news yesterday morning so a 5 second internet check could have saved you the long commute. Next, if your kids cried the whole way home(some 2 hrs) then they are way too wrapped up in the Disney "machine." Time to teach them life isn't always fair. Yes Disney does owe a big explanation to all of you because I can understand being disappointed. And finally no need to worry. I'm sure Disney will compensate you in such a way to guarentee they make even more $$$ off of you. Like tix to DisneyWorld or something like that.

Ok I understand how parents and children are upset about this. But the article did say that the lead singer for one of the headliners was busted on drug charges. That is most likely why Disney canceled the tour. What kind of message would Disney be sending if the kept the tour going with drug addicts preforming? Is that the kind of role model you want for your children? I certianly dont.

I knew about this the day before yesterday, because I'm on an email list for one of the performers (Ralph's World). No explanation on his website either.
I kind of wish he had stayed on his own rather than going with Disney. We didn't buy tickets for the show because Ralph's World is the only act my kids would have known. They are awesome - check them out if you have young kids!! We saw them last year at the Westport Country Playhouse - I keep hoping they come back there for their own show.

FYI, I believe they are closing all the Disney stores
so watch, they probably will give gift cards, but the store will be gone when you get there!

I really think a BIG company like Disney could get a different headliner at last minute

I always check the internet before I have to do anything, especially the WTNH page, it's got so much info, you can check the traffic, the doppler radar, breaking news, before you even leave the house. I even check at 5 before I leave the office to head home so I don't sit in traffic. So sad for the lil kids. The radio stations were giving out tons of free tix, no wonder!

10,000 other people figured it out. What does that say about the dozen or so that showed up?! As for kids our first one is due any day. Like I said disappointment is understandable. 2 hrs of crying is not. Besides Mom missed a great oppurtunity to turn their trip into an adventure. They drove 2 hrs, take the kids to Mystic,Hammonassett,Lake Compunce...something to make something out of nothing.
