I think its time we voted out the GOP Governor and Vote in the Democrats. Maybe then we can move the state forward and get crap under control.

Luv My Carbon Footprint you sound like a total crackpot. You are completely out of touch with reality.

Someone needs to take your guns away before you hurt someone. Its scary that nuts like you are in my hometown.

The drop in revenue is from what I quoted above. Do you think I just made this info up?
I really don't think the state even considers your reasons when determining cost factors. Bascially beyond your points on why the state is against rail, the plain fact is it's too expensive for very little return.

The democrats are in control, and have been for decades. What have they done for you? They've destroyed the state while emptying your pockets. You have to get rid of everyone at the state house, and start fresh.

If bicycles could be brought to the station and on the trains, and safe bike routes were built to get to the stations, the parking problem would be eliminated and at 1/100th the cost of building new garages. New garages are a great idea, but who is going to pay the $80,000 PER PARKING SPACE required? For $80,000, you could get 1,000 people to ride bikes or take teh bus to the station. Why do drivers feel so entitled? On a related note, do drivers realize how much they are being subsidized by the rest of us? The gas tax doesn't even cover a fraction of the money required to build and maintain our highway system. It should be raised to $10 per gallon so that we can immediately invest in transit, before the price of gas hits $10 per gallon (predicted by 2010) and the economy grinds to a halt.

The democrats and republicans BOTH talk a lot of "Jibber-Jabber", so don't go blaming it on any members of a political party. In Connecticut, like Washing-toon, the priorities in building anything new is lining the pockets of your buddies that donated to you. They are bought and sold, and should only be allowed to serve one term; you stick around too long "you grow moss".

All this political nonsense over a new train station? Clearly, the point has been missed. The point is simple; there's a nice shiny new train station in Madison to replace the older train stop, which was nothing more than a wooden platform.

This has already been done in Branford and in Clinton too (and I don't remember it bringing on a political war). I'm wondering when Westbrook will get theirs.

Wow, when did they start putting computers in the mental hospital patient rooms? What does communism have to do with it being cheaper to take the train than drive? Nobody is taking away anyone's freedom to choose when to go to work. I choose to take the train just like I could choose to drive if the timeing doesn't line up.

$200/mo to drive to work
$84/mo to take the train to work
$0/mo since my employer pays for me to use mass transit.

You to the math.

Which type of foamer do you like best? The ones that wear hockey helmets, or the ones with New Haven t-shirts and socks?

You see them sometimes set up in Springfield station with lawn chairs and refreshments; to watch trains go by, in a **** city. They will stay there the whole day and foam at the mouth with each passing train.
But the worst ones are the ones who try to impress railroad worker with their vast knowledge of railroading. Yup, real impressive, hey; walking, talking, railroad encyclopedias.
