... IF YOU WANT TO SEE PATHETIC, TAKE A LOOK AT YOURSELF.all you old school gun people suck...you live in fear all day and think a gun will save you. wake up and smell the coffee...the world is rotting, and not even your little gun will save you...you are part of the problem, not the solution, but I'm sure your guns will take a few of your kids down with you (I lost 3 friends from you stupid old school people who like to leave your guns around your houses so they will be at easy access to help save you). How ridiculous. Put your faith in a gun...how pathetic.

I am sorry but if you intrude into someones house you do indeed deserve to be shot. Get a clue **** |

1 Odds are if most of you saw your precious 10 year old white girl neighbor in the street having been- what appears to you- hit by a van at an intersection, and you, not seeing anything that occurred other than said van sitting there over the kid's corpse, you'd probably do the same things that angry gang of kids did. You, in all your ignorant blind rage, would not have done the same? With some of the comments posted here, it's very obvious that most of you are far more vicious than any of those teenagers, because instead of random rage violence on the street, you're trying to rationalize violence by claiming that you have the right to protect yourself, that the police in New Haven are worthless, that it's ok to be a racist if it's on the internet. What's wrong with New Haven? What the hell is wrong with you? The city is outraged? They should be, because people like the posters here appear to have not had the primitive parts of their brain evolve. It's embarrassing to be in the same county as you people, let alone the same planet. |

4 No, you stupid ****, most people would try to tend to their fallen friend or family member to do the best they can to save them. The last thought on a normal human beings mind would be to attack someone, they would check on the injured(family or stranger)! You probably just posted one of the dumbest things I have ever read on the internet,****. |

Common Sense...I love readers who can back up their story with proof...good work my friend..i agree with you 100 percent... |

Most of these posting are truly sad. While it is true that this family, this father, this son, are wedded to lawlessness (witness the father's rap sheet)it is a disservice to a neighborhood to write it off. There is a problem in a city with most of it's tax base non-taxable (Yale)that is an urban environment in need of many services to youth and the disenfranchised. I don't think these kids should be coddled or have the urge to explain away their behavior by pointing out their relative poverty, but I do think the community at large should take some responsibility to fill in the gaps the City cannot financially support. We need the large corporations to help create jobs and activities for kids on the loose. Yes, parents are ultimately responsible for their children but when parents fail or refuse the responsibility it is society that must step in. Writing people off and saying the world is rotting is defeatist, and I for one refuse to hand my world over the the lawless regardless of their circumstances. And in my part of New Haven we would not beat someone senseless over an accident, perhaps that is because we all know each other and have taken the time to become a community. I am sure there are those of you who will think I am pathetic, so thanks for the empathy.

1 I'd venture to bet daddy dearest was well aware the dirt bike was stolen, but did he make his kid return the stolen property? NO. Did he call the cops and tell them his son had stolen property? NO. In fact, daddy dearest, by his LACK of action, sent a very approving message to his son that stealing the dirt bike was a "good" thing. And the van driver didn't hit the stupid kid on the dirt bike. The stupid kid ran into the back of the van as it proceeded through the intersection. The stupid kid RAN A STOP SIGN and plowed into the rear quarter panel of the van. Now he's dead. Good riddance. Squashed like the roach he was. |

3 1- A little 10yr old white girl wouldn't be on a stolen dirt bike. A dirt bike that doesn't belong on the road to begin with. 2- It has happened were white children were hit and killed and the driver was not beat to near death. 3- This is obvious that if this did happen the other way around there would be protests and marches where it happened.(East Haven ring a bell?) 4- Yes I am White,(which some will not admit on here) and I hate every RACE including white people, because the fact is that every race has good and bad people. |

The animals that beat the van driver and the parents, should be in prison. The kid on the dirt bike, well that is
what you get for steeling. |

1 No, most of us wouldn't react that way nor would most black people (or a person of any race) who have morals and HALF OF THEIR THOUGHT PROCESS IN TACT. If that were my son/daughter/friend I would be MUCH MORE worried about tending to them and getting them help than beating the holy hell out of the driver of the van. |

I still say at least it wasn't in Hartford where no one even called for help when the old man had gotten hit. I wouldn't have stopped those kids from beating the guy either, how am I supposed to know if any of those kids had a gun and was going to shoot me from stopping the fight **** that. I'm glad the van driver didn't die, better the kid than him. |

Yup. It's a shame really when Yale hospital is just about 1-2 miles down the road from where the accident took place. |
