You mean $65,000 RV don't you, nothing like living in a house on wheels, bet you have a disco ball and Elvis Oil Painting hanging above the sleeper couch, as far as the little boy comment, I hope that wasnt some sort of Freudian slip, dont know why you have little boys on the mind. If my mother were to stand on the corner, I am sure I would get alot of commission, shes hot. Last time your mother went to the street corner somebody called the local zoo come get this Gorilla.
No I mean $65,000 SUV that I own no bank lien here and same for my house. Can u same the same? Glad to match banking accounts, salaries and what I own with u any day. Bet I win. As far as the disco ball, elvis oil painting and the sleeper couch goes I sold them all to your mom since she needed some furniture for her room she has at the homeless shelter.

Did the Sheriff also tell you that he was taking the much needed funds out of the jail budget? He stated that they had miss calculated the over crowding in the jail but I know from an inside source at the jail that is not true. The jail is approx. 900 inmates over what it is suppost to hold. Also the jail is running shifts that are short staffed now and if the budget is cut any further that means what staff they do have will not be able to cover the short fall. This means that every officer in the jail will be in grave danger. If the Sheriff needs money for these new officers I say cut the fat at the top administrative level and keep the patrol cars in the garage when officers are not on duty.
Lind, did you just listen to part of what sheriff said? He did say that the money was comming from the jails budget and he did say they had miss calculated the over crowding in the jail. But he also said that the jails are over crowded but not as much as they expected. The money to run the jail is there. But they also have enough to hire 40 new police officers. I say great job Sheriff Rutherford. Now if you want to complain, look at JEA. How much extra money do you think they have? We could hire 200 more officers on the money they waste.

She thought the homeless shelter would be cleaner and nicer than moving in with you in your $65,000 RV, but thanks for the offer, your heart was in the right place.

Mark do you just go around and target people or do you have something to say? I'm sure you will loose with bobbie because she wakes up looking forward to firing up these forums. But keep it up if you can, you might want to but some aloe on those burns.

Well bobbie may be too much for you to handle, but for me its a walk in the park, it is very clear that I am not the one needing the aloe here, but thanks for the advice.

If we cut back on personal use of the patrol vehicles when the officers are off-duty then we would be able to hire even more patrolmen
Take home car programs save money. It has been proven that assigned cars are better kept up than pool vehicles. This saves money by have to buy cars less often.

Officers driving cars off duty handle thousands of calls each year. These might be lesser issues, like disabled motorist. It might be crimes in progress, like a burglary or violent crime.

Officers driving off duty give also makes the city to appear to have more officers than it has and may deter crime by the added visibility.

Waaaa!!!! Waaaa!!!, I am sure your job is so much tougher than anybody elses, in the world, our U.S. military now thats a tough job and those people truly put their lives on the line, quit trying to ride their coat tails. As far as your pay goes, that old line wont work anymore, the people of jacksonville pay cops better than anywhere in the State, has that translated to lower crime?, not hardly, we are simply asking that you do your job and quit whining, I dont blame cops for the crime in our city, it is a cultural problem, adding more cops wont fix it.
Really, where do you get your numbers? Here is a list of the largest departments in the state and what the starting salary is for each:

Miami-Dade County (Miami): 35,264
Orange County (Orlando): 36,774
Jacksonville: 38,556
West Palm Beach Police: 41,078
Hillsborough County (Tampa): 44,017
Tampa Police: 44,387
Palm Beach County (West Palm):44,928

These are just the largest departments in the state. There are other departments that pay much higher. Not sure where you get that JSO pays officer more than anywhere else in the state. Check your facts before you vomit at the mouth.

Why don't you all just admit that you have a God d a.m n corrupted government and there is nothing you can do about it?... I would rather see a JSO cop shot dead then anyone else .. But we all know that wont happen because the JSO has one of the safest jobs around. They are freeloaders in the first degree.

A JSO cop, is beneath a pig in reality. I spit on them.

..."would you like fries with that?" brighest crayon, Very, very original and very educated comment sure it took you all day to think of that one, based on the JSO website, I earn more than the sheriff, earn is the key word here, I actually produce something through hard work and risk taking, just to have the government leaches try to stick their hands in my pocket for nothing, police and fire are part of the political machine, just like mayors and councilman, I dont need government to take care of me I can do it myself,(military excluded), I would give them the shirt off my back, they earn their money.
So what your are saying is you overcharge the citizens for your product? Give me a break, everyone who gets paid a salary is being paid by others. You are no different. Police earn their salary too. They come to work and deal with all the dregs of society. They are underpaid, but they don't complain about it, they knew what the salary was.

Does your career have the public opinion that the police does? I doubt it! They do something good, and the public complains they were too aggressive. Don't do something, and they comlain the police were lazy. No way to win.

Its a God d.a m n waste in my opinion. Many cops should be walking the streets and ridding bicycles instead of wasting gas and police cruisers doing nothing..
