All you see while she is standing up is her tummy and her legs but when she sits down it that poor excuse for window treatment you are going to be looking up her cooter because she even said she had no underwear on.I've been hearing people talk about this dress and had them asking me if I've seen it. So, I come on the net looking for the story and a glimpse of this "OMG I can't believe she would even think of wearing that" dress. Mind you, I do think the dress is a tragedy in the way it is styled and pieced together, like a curtain from the 70's chopped up and gone wrong, but what is she showing that we don't see everyday on tv? I see more than that on a soap opera, music video, or commercial for that matter. I see more than that hanging out on ten year olds walking around in the mall. If the school had a swim party at the pool or at the beach would she not be allowed to wear a bikini or a bathing suit? All I see are her tummy and her legs, so if she had covered up her tummy would they have let her in? Look at all the girls who go and have their tummy covered but the material is sheer! Look at all the girls who go and have their gowns backless! What about the ones who have long skirts but slits up to their waisteline! If they're going to make such a big deal about things like this then they should just have prom dresses issued. This whole double standard of a female not being allowed to wear what she wants because if she reveals too much that gives people the right to judge her and look down on her is outrageous (mind you I realize she is a teenager but that kind of mentallity sets in at an early age)! I don't see anyone talking down about guys who walk around with their shirts off all day grabbing their genitals hooting and hollering at every female that crosses their path. It's so sad when you have to be in fear of expressing yourself because of the backlash you might receive from society. Hopefully she does not let the general public's viewpoints and opinions get her down. Who knows, one day she might look into studying fashion and design clothes for some "shall remain nameless" celebrities seen on the E channel.

I think the dress (if that is what you want to call it) would be inappropriate for a school function.
However, the real issue is that she and everyone that was attending the prom was given/shown/read the rules for the attire. Don't follow the school rules, don't go to the prom. But maybe she just couldn't read. Another one slipped through the cracks. |

Common sense should have told her that she did not need to wear that anywhere, much less to a school function. I commend school officials for standing up and not allowing her to enter the function wearing this. And where are her parents and do they actually let her out of the house wearing this kind of clothing, because my daughters would not ever step foot out of the house wearing anything even close to this!

1 Why do you care if she has respect for herself? It is not your business. You are correct. But, who doesn't want attention now and then? That is their problem. If they have self respect, like you say they should- it wouldn't matter to them or the dates they are with. Something called CONFIDENCE She is not that attractive, that doesn't matter though. Maybe she thinks she is attractive, and she has confidence. Good for her |
Yes the ticket stated proper dress required and it would be checked upon entrance. |

I saw a video that appeared to show a school official, holding a list detailing what was peoper prom attire. If the dress code list was given to the kids before the prom, and a child violated it, then they shouldn't be suprised if the school refused to admit them. I think she should get her ticket money back though.

1 That's the best summary of the viewpoint of the "moral majority" I've ever seen. Thank you very much for that enlightening post. "We don't care if you're a $2 whore sleeping with 50 men at a time. We only care that you LOOK respectable." "We don't care if you're blowing guys in public restrooms so often that a line forms when you walk in. We only care that you VOTE against gay rights." "We don't care about a girl who was raped and impregnated. We only care that abortion SOUNDS bad." "We don't care if our Church harbors, protects and enables pedophiles. We only care that you go to church and sit in your pew." "We don't care about hunger, poverty or lack of education. We want your tax dollars spent making the neighborhood surrounding our gated community LOOK clean and safe." "We don't care about reality. We are too busy policing how things appear." It's so refreshing to hear you people admit it every now and then. |

She looks like a HOOKER!
|
|
Yeah, then she gets raped on the way and she will say how and why did this happen to me. Dress like a hooker you are looking for trouble. |
|
|
She should not have been allowed to a school function dressed like that.

[QUOTE who="Donna Atlanta GARespect for others means that you don't go cruising into your high school prom dressed in a way that guarantees you'll cause a scene and garner 100% attention. Did you ever think that the rest of the girls at prom spent hours picking out a dress, having their hair done, trying to look beautiful and then Lil' Miss walks in half-naked and all of a sudden there's not another girl in the place who can compete with that.[/QUOTE]
Another great quote! You're revealing so much about yourself today. Harboring much resentment about the fact that someone who looked better than you in high school got all the boys' attention? So in your world, not only does the fact that she's confident enough to wear a reavealing outfit mean she has no self respect, she's also taking unfair advantage of the fact that boys like to look at girls? Keep going, you're on a roll! |
She is a hooker in training. My guess is that her mother was working the corner when she left the house for the prom. She was lookin' to get some practice in before she was professionally on the streets and charging for her 'tricks'. She didn't have panties on, afterall! Good for her for making her own dress, but she should have covered up a little more. |

But, could this be a girl that doesn't have a male roll model in the home and is looking in the wrong place for what she should be getting at home? She does have confidence. She is confident she is right. |
and for that... a round of applause... a standing ovation. |

1 Yeah! She's demonstrating a pathetic need for attention! Not just a normal desire to be noticed and appreciated, but a pathetic need. If she were old, fat and ugly, instead of wearing a skimpy dress to her prom, she'd be posting on message boards, tearing apart some random young lady she'd never met based entirely on a photograph and desperately crying out for someone to notice them and somehow believe she's relevant. Because that would be pathetic, wouldn't it? |
