Hmm. Maybe they are Shorestien's illigitimate offspring. There is a 100+ lb. rat sitting at the Mayors desk and plenty of them down at DCPS also. We all know where the rats are!!

Rats have been in that courthouse for years. Shorstein, Peyton, half the judges, etc.... Bait the traps with a new useage fee idea and we will catch the mayor. Bait another with anyone opposing Shorstein and we will catch him, and put a get out of jail free card on the last one and we should catch almost every judge trying to get it to give to the next unfortunate criminal in the city!!!

What a headline. Is that supposed to be "news". Wait until they move into the taxpayer abyss that shortsightedness by these "rats" has heaped upon the citizens of Jville. Where is the Pied Piper when you need him? Oh yeah, he got murdered on the northside. For disrepecting some fool with a gun. sleep tight.

I'm not so interested in the TAJ, I think they should have built a "judicial complex" on the Cecil Field property while they had the chance. Wow just think, room for all the division (circuit, family, criminal, etc) and free parking, easy access to the interstates. But I guess we couldn't ask all the big wigs to commute like us common folk.

They're just using this "Rat Problem" to sway public opion toward accepting city plans to finance and build a new courthouse. You can bet that soon there will be an announcement about a ballad for voters to decide this fall to finance a new courthouse. Why is the rat problem being addressed now? the timing is oh so coincidental.

Yes...and we can hear them in the courtroom walls in the juvenile courtroom adjacent to the holding tanks during court hearings.

Part of the problem is that the taxpayers think that we don't need a new courthouse because "only the criminals use it". Unfortunately, the citizens fail to realize that this is where they go to get their marriage licenses, to adopt children, get divorced, probate the estates of their loved ones and seek the civil relief they believe they justly deserve.

So unfortunately, many will hear this report and not care because "only the criminals" are there, without realizing that the majority of the courthouse serves many people who also deserve the services of our legal system without having committed a crime to get there.

Yeah, and there are roaches, rats, and mice in the majority of our PUBLIC schools! What's the point?

This still does not justify a new freakin' courthouse!

The sad thing is, people like John Peyton, who have prospered by turning their backs on the people who put him in office , are still crawling around sticking it to the people who need help the most in this city. Rats are better than that.

Do you want the prisoners transported to and from the jail to the courthouse all the way across town? One accident and prisoners excape think of all the lawsuits. Unless you're a lawyer this isn't a good idea.

Well, a judicial complex would include a place for prisoners until they are sentenced or are awaiting hearings. They will be transported from the from the jail to LaVilla when the TAJ is built. They are being transported across the street now. Jacksonville is going to need (Needs) a large facility, build it all at once and save some money. I know it is a pipe dream to believe that something smart like that could have been done.
