I have been doing this for a very long time. And State Board of Pharmacy does NOT want this to pass because it is going raise salaries of pharmacy technicians. And Pharmacist DO NOT want that to happen. Pharmacist in hospital setting sit behind a desk enter orders, while the technician is compounding, making intravenous antiboitics, pulling meds to fill from the orders that the Pharmacist enter. And make the delivery to the units. In the top hospitals in the Cuyahoga County area there are only 2 to 3 technicians on duty after 3pm till 7am the following day. And the Pharmacist who makes well over 6 figure salary gets pissed when a tech ask questions or asks for help. Sorry, I just reached $30,000 year. And I hope to GOD that we are legalized and recognized that way WE as Pharmacy Technician get the respect and salaries that is LONG overdue... And maybe hospitals will take college educated, trained, and certified technicians, before a kid from Walgreens decide to get a job making an IV from my kid! We are in for a change. I went to school I have an Associates Degree, I am certified, I train student technicians, and I still continue with my education. Please regulate technicians, it is sad that a child had to be a vicitim to get a law that is long overdue to pass.
