Hooray!! Go Pawtucket! I am actually from East Providence, but now live in Pawtucket with 3 kids in there school department! Darlington is an awesome place, we live on an old fashoned street where we are all friends when we loose one we mourn whereas anywhere else you keep to yourself. We <3 it here!

Are you kidding. This town may have many things to do, but the crime rate is sky high. That includes drugs, violence, theft, and killings, etc. Most neighborhoods there are very scary to live in. You can't trust your neighboors. There are many more non-threating safe neighborhoods to live in.

I couldn't agree more w/ mau29. All you hear on the evening news is the crime rate in Pawtucket. What did they compare Pawtucket too???? Cabrini Green???

FInally, Pawtucket gets the kudos it deserves! I was born and raised in this city. My husband & I made a conscience decision to raise our family here. The organized sports & facilities for children are second to none (and we have had "out of towners" agree), the Pawsox in our backyard are wonderful to the citizens, and Theatrical performances at the Gamm. Slater Park has so much to offer including Philharmonic concerts, a beautiful bike path, "chowda & clamcakes, and the Water Color Society of Rhode Island. It amazes us how many events we attend and see folks from neighboring towns there. I have yet to see another city in this state (Providence aside) have so much! It is culturally diverse, which teaches our children the value of other cultures. There is crime everywhere, no place is perfect, but Pawtucket fits the bill for us!

ajr (Warwick) and Mau29 (also Warwick)- I didn't realize that Warwick was crime free. Last time I checked, there have been quite a few murders there as well, the latest trial was just held for the teacher aide murdered in your city. Next time I am looking to move, I'll be sure to check out Warwick - no drugs & crime, but a nice loud airport to enjoy!

I lived in Pawtucket for a few years and let me tell you, it was not pleasant at all. We had more encounters with drunks and scary people than anywhere else. Personally, I think Warwick is far better. There is a lot to do there and it is a much safer community.

Best place to raise your kids...are they out of their mind!...This city is awful, the schools suck, the garbage men leave more trash on the ground than they get in the truck, the water's nasty, the list goes on and on....Wonder if the writer would like to buy a house because if the market recovers mine will be for sale.

This entire state should be abolished.....stick half to MA and half to Conn. not that they would want it. There is way to much government between city and state.

There are some places there that if you don't know the people and you talk to them they ignore you completely as if you weren't even there and if you called the cops for anything nine times out of ten they'd say we're not going to do anything about it.
