Woonsocket Mayor Menard Denies Taking Smaller Pay Cut

Another greedy political hack. Do as I say, not as I do. Dig deeper into those pockets with your short hands lady, and give up the 5% like everyone else. Be an example, not an idiot. I realize when you got elected, you believed that you were owed something. Wrong!Take some vitamins and let those short hands grow into those deep pockets and pay up sweetie!

she makes 80 grand a year and took a flat 50 dollar cut. 7 day work week? she hasn't been to a city council meeting in years. her 5 and 15% plan for wage cuts and cost sharing would have cut my pay almost 100 a week. we are forced to take compensatory time instead of pay for overtime which is sometimes forced. with the overtime loss my overall pay cut is more to the tune of 10 to 15%. nice job mayor!

I think I heard the mayor defend herself a few days ago on radio talk show. She did not disagree with the fact she took a 3% pay cut and went on to say the rate was figured by her 7 day work week.
Question is what is it? A 3% as stated on radio? 9% as stated on Ch12?
Lets face it 5% is 5% regardless of days you work. Especially with a salary which I believe is 80K a year.

I like woonsocket some parts are very nice to bad the mayor is letting go to hell. i thought this stimulos money was supposed to keep fire and police jobs. what is woonsocket doing with their share of the money? oh and thats a nice new car the mayor is driving it has to be a city car right? it has city plates on it dose she need a new car every year? just give her a old cop car.

Other workers are taking a 5% pay cut as well as a bigger copay in benefits. Why should the copay be figured in for her. Let her take the 5% like everyone else instead of thinking she is better than everyone else in the city's employment

Lets see....An average municipal employee was taking home around 380.00 a week before the 5% pay cut and 15% medical deduction. He or she now take home around 310.00 with the new rules in effect. The union president,a janitor at city hall, made 75,000.00 last year, with over 40,000.00 in overtime. The Highway superintendent made 104,000.00 last year, with a base salary of 55,000.00, and stipends and overtime of close to 49,000.00. These two individuals are butt kissers of the 3% paying mayor!
