I am currently in the process of dealing with them right now. I was one of the lucky ones who received a dog, and she is wonderful... She was supposed to arrive spayed, and she was not. They promised to foot the bill, but now... a year later... I just received a bill from the vet saying Help Save One never paid. I'm currently going after them for the money.
There has to be a way to make this website more visible to the people researching Help Save One. There are way too many people being scammed into this group. I don't understand how it is even legal for her to continue on like this. |

I can't tell you my real name because I'm fostering 2 pups and would be horrified to have to let them go back with this woman.
I've never dealt with Marissa, personally, although she's been supposedly sending the paperwork for my dogs so I can take them to the vet to get the shots they still need. I'm now beginning to see that if I ever get those papers I'll be old and gray. What was supposed to be a few weeks foster has turned into a few months. No one has checked up to see how they're doing. I've always contacted them.**** called ONE time to tell me how sorry she was that one of my pups had died. Ummm...not mine. They have NO idea who they drop these poor dogs off to, or what will become of them. I LOVE these dogs, or I wouldn't have volunteered in the first place. What saddens me is, they're still legal property of help save one and any time they feel like it they can come take them and I can't say a word. The above poster is right. I've done some research since no one has gotten back to me and my spidey senses went haywire, and found sooo many complaints. They need the spotlight on them as they truly are. I'm seeing I was one of the more fortunate and my guys are healthy and happy, now. |

Ugh, If this is untrue (which wouldn't be surprising)than i really think the news and 'Storytellers need to actually do there research and find out facts before spreading lies and wrong assumptions, its soo annoying. But sadly it's NOT uncommon, esp with news and media. Always getting names and stories wrong or exagerrating the truth. Get your s*** strait and do your job RIGHT.

Sad to say but I believe all the bad hype HSO is receiving. I did get my dog. She was suppose to arrive fully vetted and spayed. Not so though. Over $1000.00 later and many promises (and lots of excuses) of some re-imbursement I finally realized that it was not going to happen.
I love my dog and am glad she is part of our family but I'm still paying off a debt that should never have been mine. |

I too have been scammed by Help Save One. They took my money and I have no dog. I offered multiple times to drive up to get him & they would never give me a location. This is how they get you. They make false promises, tell you what you want to hear & never show up with the dog. This was to be my 5th rescue dog & none of my other adoptions have been as painful as this. There are over 300,000 homelss animals on www.petfinder.com , please find a reputable rescue who will talk to you & not require money before you ever see your dog.
