91-year-old charged in fatal crash

WOW ! 91 and still driving, good for him if his faculties are still there. BUT there really should be more frequent
testing for our older drivers. I feel sorry for both families enduring this pain.

You just read an article claiming this man killed someone with his car, and your comment is "91 and still driving, good for him if his faculties are still there?" Isn't it painfully obvious that his "faculties" are not there?

I feel sorrow for the family that lost their love ones. However, what good is it going to do to arrest and try a 91 year old. I believe you could revoke his license. But I am not for sure; if our tax paying dollars needs to be used for this. Trying him won't bring them back.

I do feel that we need to consider putting some testing or more frequent evaluations of drivers when they reach a certain age. I would say probably 70 years old.

This story is really very sad for both families. While I agree with vwatson, at the same time, the law is the law regardless of the age of the offender. However, this is just very tragic all the way around.

What responsibility does this man's children bear? Don't falt the man, his car is probably his last link to his independence. I'd be talking to his kids!

Yes, the law is the law, however, NOT EVERYONE who causes an ACCIDENT that results in death is charged with negligent homicide and I think this man's license being revoked would be sufficient; I can't imagine what the stress of being charged with this, arresting him and putting him in jail is causing him

There are times that the "Law" needs to be logical and I don't think this is a time that it is

it is sad, but when you blow through a stop sign, hit a SUV making it spin 360 degrees, and then get out and belittle the other driver for not seeing him. Then not calling for help.

Does he have children? If so, do they live close enough to have been looking after him? Think about it, the man is NINETY-ONE YEARS OLD, which would likely place his children, if any, in their late 60's-early 70's with, likely, health problems of their own

This is sad....but once again, WOOD has come up short on the story. Did anyone see where it said WHY the man was arrested? No license? Dunno!

I agree. The costs of arresting, bonding, court actions will not alleviate the victim's loss. Nor will it do any good. The 91 year old driver should lose his right to drive and that should be the end of it.

At least he wasn't Drunk. If he had a license. Hes ok to drive. What can ya say. Thats the states fault for licensing him.

The children should not be held responsible. Trust me, as a child whose parent should not be driving it took a very long time to convince my parent to not drive. He still drove even when he was not suppose to and fortunately no one ever got hurt. Thankfully he has now surrendered his license to the state and does not drive. This was something that went on for several years. So to blame the children is wrong - do not judge without being through it yourself. It is hard for a parent to have to listen to their child set the rules - even at an elder age they believe we should be listening to them.

Are you serious? He is 91.... Can we find any other way to waste taxpayers money.... come on... This is why nobody is proud to live here.

I think this 91 year old had a plan the whole time, at his age and with the cost of healthcare, food and utilities he found the perfect solution for all of his problems, Kill and then live the rest of your life at society's expense. His plan is safer than buying stocks. You get a guaranteed positive return on your investment. Heck why even wait till your that old. Unemployed? NO money? No opprortunities? Run someone over today. In case you can't figure it out, I AM KIDDING!!!!

91 is too old to be driving. Period.

He shouldn't be on the road, but the prosecutor is a little too aggressive. That seems to be happening lately. Too lenient on elected officials who do many bad things, and throw the book at an old man that could die tomorrow, and who likely isn't in his right mind.
