Let them go to prom and their commencement. This is just a "seinor" thing and they should not be singled out. Just kids being kids, But maybe they should have put Don't Drink and drive, then it would have been ok, But don't take thier glory away they made it through school and should be able to have the privelage of thier prom and commencement. Tell the school to quit being "sticks in the mud!"

I don't think I would ban them from prom and graduation.
But I would remind them of the consuqences of drinking and
driving. One life lost to drunk driving is one to many.

Cheese and Rice...give me a break? Lighten up or get real.
If this is the worst of the worst then I'm missing something. How about 75% drop-out rate for H/S students?

This is going to far....let kids be kids.
It is only a shirt and there is no harm.
First you take away their Halloween now it is a normal shirt, what is next?

What part of ZERO tolerance is so hard for kids to understand when they are presented the rules at the beginning of the year? To someone with common sense it's not very hard to understand the punishment.

Someone with common sense would quickly understand that ZERO is a value that you will never achieve. Nice post Einstine...

What is wrong with our schools systems. It seems that everyone has forgotton how to think for themselves. We had made rules and laws that are so stupid that we have taken common sense out of the equation. I think that we need to get back to settling issues one issue at a time. I understand that kids are dying due to drinking and driving too fast, but only one is responsbile if we live or die and it will not be rules or laws. Live as we are suppsoe to.

If the shirts were sold and they made a small profit for the senior class maybe donating it to a family whose life have been affected in a alcohol related car accident and apologize own up to your poor choices by turning it into something good like that. Drinking and driving is just not an exceptable behavior. Underage drinking is not a cool thing to do either it causes poor chioces like rape,or leed to alcoholism, drugs, and other poor choices. Sorry if your immiture enough to make a shirt like that think it's okay to wear to school your to immiture to handle alcohol.

DUH, HE IS REFERRING TO WHAT MOST HIGH SCHOOLS STATE AS THEIR GUIDLINE!JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN'T FATHOM IT, WHAT THEY MEAN IS THERE IS NOT STIKES,
NOT TOLERANCE IS NO TOLERNACE!( enough on that)
I work at a high school, and yes teenagers are alot of talk, and they should be punnished for their "misjudgement" but they should be allowed to go to their graduaion, after all one bad decision, should take them away from all those years of hard work to get that diploma! Make them volunteer at a hospital and see the injured as the result of drinking and driving! do some community service!

This just shows how stupid educated people have got. Everyone knows that the more you tell teenagers not to do something, the more they are going to do it. If you want your children to not drink oppression is not the answer. Education and communication with you children is the only way. As for this issue, when you take away a little free expression for our children how do ever expect them to go as individuals.

This is ridiculous! There is nothing rude or obscene with this T-shirt, it isn't even inappropriate. It shows a class of students with a sense of humor! What are the teens really learning from this? They are learning to conform! I bet at the meeting they will be informed, by the uptight staff, how to be good little Johnny's and Jane's, otherwise known as automatons. How does this help budding college students learn to expand their minds and grow? If it had been vulgar I would have agreed, but lets not make a mountain out of a mole hill. If I was one of the parents I would be raising a huge ruckus!

Go Livonia Seniors.....whoever thought up those shirts is awesome....the school should lighten up on them if that is the only "prank" they do you have some pretty good kids. Those shirts are harmless....are they for sale?

daffy: What I'm meaning is that ZERO is a stated value. The fact that you will never achieve ZERO does not mean that you will not get close...There has to be (at least one molecule of value) and that would be that you don't punish these kids for that shirt...

As of right know they have there graduation and prom taken away on Friday they will have a meeting to how to get that back. If they owned up to there poor choices and apologized and turned this into something good like some kind of community awareness. There should be no problem of getting it all back. They were warned prior also.

I am glad that the school is taking action against the tee-shirt issue. The senior class, whether they like it or not, are role models to the younger classes and promoting under-age drinking is unacceptable.

When I was a senior in high school we had class shirts too...and the design had to be approved by the class sponsor, principal and vice principal. If someone had a problem with this design then why didn't they say something BEFORE the t-shirts were made and worn by the students?! It says right in the article that the seniors have a t-shirt every year!

I see no fault by the students here, this is a lack of supervision by the administrators!
