What a shame. That will probably haunt the poor kid his whole life. Hat's off to gramps for taking his grandson fishing. Hopefully the kid will not quit fishing.

That is a sad story. And how old is the grandson.

It's not funny, but right on the half that Barry county is NOT having a good day. This is really sad and really sucks. My grandpa use to take me fishing and I COULD NOT immagine having that happening to me. Very sad and unfortunate.

So Sad...

I fish this lake a lot and know the danger of a boat sinking, the entire perimeter consists of very soft silt, I went swimming here a few years back and the only was i got out was to find a piece of plywood and use it to get over that silt, which is much like quicksand. My condolences go out to the family, but for anyone else ever planning on fishing this lake wear a PFD or something similar because getting out of that lake is very difficult, I am sure this is not the first time this has happened and it will not be the last.

This is so incredibly sad. You know the saying, when it's time for you to go, it should be doing something you enjoy.

this is so sad . my sympathy goes out two this family. This poor little boy will live with this the rest of his life. I hope his parents get him some counseling. He probably will never want to get in a boat again.

what a mean thing two say. This boy had two watch his grandpa die. You are a very insensitive person. I don't care if you think you were joking or not its wrong.

It says the grandson is ok. He might be okay physically but mentally he's going to suffer for a long time. My heart goes out to him and his family.

What a sad story. I'm sure this grandfather was doing something he enjoyed most out of life, fishing with his grandson. My heart goes out to this family and young boy.
