Look at the numbers from the latest CNN poll. Only thirty-six percent of women view Sarah Palin favorably, and we know who those thirty-six percent are. Simply put, outside the wingnutosphere, Sarah Palin is the biggest flop conceivable as garnerer of female support for the ticket. At thrity-six percent, she fails to impress even quite a few Republican women. Simply put, women do not like Sarah Palin. The trophy running mate is having pretty much the same effect on the electorate that a trophy wife typically has in your average ex-urban cul-de-sac. Palin is generating bulging enthusiasm among certain males, who, after oogling the unqualified Alaskan VP nominee on CNN as she shoots her gun with her tight sweater on, run to their keyboards and blog what their scrotums have told them, that Palin will be a major game changer. Suddenly, they have ceded to the power of imagery over policy and have fixated on the notion that Mrs Palin offers the McCain presidential ticket its much needed bounce. Little did these prognosticators in their second pubescence realize that most hard-working women who struggle in a man's world, the ones who admired Hillary for her erudition and tenaciousness, were not going to transfer their support to an unprepared Linda Carter look-alike, just because CNN is touting with her marksmanship. The truth is that Palin offends women. She insults them. She reminds the normal struggling woman of the less qualified for whom they get passed-over for jobs on a day-to-day basis just because men prefer their ilk smiling at the reception desk, waiting at the restaurant table, beaming at meetings, or standing next to them in a presidential ticket so they can catch a peek. Women read her body language and understand it without succumbing to it. Women listen to her tall-tales about her last pregnancy and are calling out the bull...

McCain and that lady blows the snot out of many dems for the race. Too bad Obama didn't pick Hillary, ya man great prez, he just orgastrated his loss by not picking Hillary for your great text-to phone campaign fools. Oh by the way,,, McCain held out longer for a leak as VP pick. Obamas announcement was leaked like 6 to 8 hours earlier. Hows that for doing things right.!! Or how about the company Obama was bashing while the guy he hired worked for them.(savings and loan)!!! talk about vetting ???????? Obama said "how can we vet the vetters", so get off McCains case.He hasn't done nothing nor she, the news is going to eat sheeeeeet.

All of you need to take a step back from your computer. Ready? I question her decision to let herself get pregnant at the age of 44 while a sitting govenor of a state. If you all want to start some debate on abortion then START ANOTHER TOPIC. Its a free world. This topic is about McCain's trailer-trash pick for VP who, at the ripe old age of 44 years old, hasnt figured out how to keep from becoming pregnant, just like her 17 year old daughter. Like mother like daughter. If you think its OK, then so be it. You obviously have different standards set for your VP candidate. I understand your embarassment and I would want to change the subject too if Obama had picked some Calamity Jane type who is better at shooting Moose and firing AK-47s than keeping her legs shut. I'm not embarassed,^ but you should be. Sure glad you have such HIGH standards. I don't know Where our morals would be as a Country without them. Thankfully, most of us here have some. God Bless you, Sarah~may he give you strength against the whuteva's in the world!

McCain says Palin was thoroughly checked : (comments from adn.com ) PLEASE: Can someone turn down the Twilight Zone theme music, I've been hearing it all week. RATINGS: Why do I keep hearing for the the McCain people that Gov Palin has an 80% approval rating in Alaska...that is definately not true at this time. Last I read it was 53% and that was at least a week ago. I wish I knew the exact rating as of today. KEY ISSUES: The key issue is it shows how poor McCain will be in running the country. Like Bush, he clearly puts no emphasis on qualifications and all the emphasis on politics; that's how we got scandals in Iraq, Katrina, and the Justice Department. It also is striking that McCain has decided to sacrifice the independent/moderate vote just to get the radical right's support. He has abandoned every principle he once stood for. And it is of course nice to see Republican chickens come home to roost. Sara Palin needs to learn something about family values and raising children from Michelle Obama. STAY ON TRACK: Let us not get side tracked by Governor Palin's household issues. What truly has me concerned is Senator McCain's careless attitude when examining the credentials of his VP running mate. He shows contempt for Americans and the Democratic process. LEADERSHIP: It is becoming clear that Senator McCain did not seek information regarding Governor Palin's background before his hasty action to put a conservative female candidate in front of us. We now know how Governor Palin feels about abortion. But, what is her philosophy of governance? What about her insight, judgement and position on critical issues facing this Nation? As an Alaskan I have yet to have heard an utterance regarding strategies to address nuclear proliferation, AIDS at home or abroad, global trade and finance, immigraion, the Federal deficit and banking policy, labor issues, health policy etc. Senator McCain has had a front row seat in evaluating civic leaders across this Nation for over three decades. Now he ignores those who would actually be qualified for this job in order to pander for votes. This is not responsible behavior on behalf of those who voted for him or the entire citizenry of our Nation. This is leadership that makes it very difficult to sleep at night. SARA PALIN I think the best people to run the show are the people that experiences it first hand. I feel you have to learn the hard way to do it right the next time. I support Sarah even though I'm a democrate. She has the right heart and mind to run this country. Since her running mate is 72 We just might have out first women president.

McCain smokes Obama, and now so does his pick, I mean real life gov decisions for McCain AND his running mate. Obama ain't squat, all fake built up madia is about all he ammounts too. OH? I think Obama knowing the constitution is really good. I also like that he and his wife went to college, exspensive one. But NOTHING trumps Palin sold the Gov jet, and got yhe chefs new jobs. Add McCain in the pic. You all have to realise this, McCain knows whats up, Obama is clueless. Plus about now, I bet Biden wishses McCain picked him soooo bad. I bet Obama is outliberaling Biden. heh.

I keep seeing the same empty rhetoric over and over with very few substantive points being made, especially on the Democrat side. At least Obama showed some restraint and class with his statement about Bristol Palin, unlike so many of his followers. Watching this "political debate" has been like watching a bunch of little kids.

the middle class pays a much higher percentage of their take home pay. fica [ss taxes] are capped and they pay a full share will the wealthy stop paying at the cap [currently something around $97,000] the middle class pay their 15% ss tax on their full pay, that 15% ss tax stops for the wealthy for a large part of their income. assuming everyone pays the typical fees, taxes and other gimmicks the local [car licence fees, tolls, driver's licence fees, hidden taxes in all utility bills, about 45.8 cents per gallon in gas tax, Cigarette Tax, sugar tax, taxes added to everything from airline tickets to hotel rooms] state and federal government charge for services today. these 'add on' taxes are why the middle class pay way more in taxes. becuz most of them are based on so much per head, not how much you have. aimNfire wrote: <quoted text> Yes, i am laughing. Is Everyone All Psyched for tonight? Last Night, even Joe Lieberman shined. Fred Thompson was Refreshingly honest. We Americans so appreciate the Backbone & Dedication to Country that the Republican Party put forth! Such contrast from the DNC's take on what's important in America. It took alot of courage for Joe Lieberman's statements. May God keep him safe, from the attacks he'll get from his own party. But he did give it an all-american try. There will never be another 1st Lady like Laura Bush. I will miss her.She exemplifies a humble strength. Sincerity & Pride Abound at the RNC Convention! Was a wonderful display of what we value in America~~~~Thank you to all those who Praise Her****~~~~ John McCain is Ready to Lead this Nation. Sarah Palin will reflect her values tonight. Looking forward to it.

Obviously once she's pregnant... she has 2 choices doesn't she. And you seem to be highly upset that she had the baby. And as for birth control, how do you know she didn't use any? And for another matter, it's not unusual for women to go through their 'change' at about 44. There could be a chance where she thought she was done too. Do you know if she PLANNED to get pregnant at 44 or is this something that just happened? I didnt care that she had the baby. Its her decision to want a kid, if indeed she planned this pregnancy. Why, in your mid 40s, as a sitting govenor of a state, with so much on the table, with grown kids already would you want to bring a little one into all that? Not to mention the health risks involved of having children late in your child bearing years. I think it is somewhat selfish to have a kid 'just because you want one'. Thats what I meant. If it wasnt planned then I dont think she was selfish, just foolish. Do I think she should have aborted? No I dont and I dont know why everyone came to that conclusion.

Posted it in another thread, but here goes. Sarah Palin has a 76% approval rating from her constituents. Which is the same number as Pelosi or Biden. Can anyone find another federal or executive level pol with that high of an approval rating?
