I have seen many people on here that have left the state including myself. Most have left due to joblessness. I am now finishing up my one week vacation. I came up here from Tulsa, Oklahoma. We have dropped around $2000 on our vacation. It is not even a drop in the bucket but it is something. Just remember that Michigan has alot to see for a vacation. We started out with dutch village and windmill island in Holland. Then went to Sault Ste. Marie and did the ferry tour. Then we continued to St. Ignace and took the catameran to Mackinac Island. After that we came back to GR to finish with the Van Andle Museam, Fredrik Meijer Gardens, and the John Ball Zoo. Next year we will haveto do the state capitol, Henry Ford Museum, and visit Hell, Michigan.

It would be nice if some of us would get a vacation. How can you when your on Manpower!. Our European allies get 6 to 8 weeks and its the law. The Euro right now is stronger than the dollar because I know our lovely CEO's will say they can't compete. People are afraid to take vacation because then they are looked at like whimps by co-workers and bosses. 1 week per year is pathetic! just plain to fricken short! The system completely sucks. Look at our rise is diabetes, heart disease etc. Europeans don't have near the trouble. I know some dumb **** is going to tell me then move to Germany- Sieg Hiel!

You make some good and valid points. The point that I was after was those who have moved on beyond this state and are employed with vacation time, should remember where they come from and support the Michigan economy.

Jeffrey Gray, Thanks for the visit to Michigan. Michigan has a lot to offer and beautiful places to explore. In the winter we go on a vac somewhere warm, and in the summer we explore the many great places in Michigan.
See you next year!!!!!!!! |

We did spend our Friday morning there in GH.:) We parked in the state park parking.$8 for non-residents...but oh well. Walked the pier and let the kids go swimming. The old lady and her kids are from Oklahoma so they didn't like the "cold" water...lol...But the 8 y.o. had no problem going in for a bit. Everytime I come back I miss home a little more. We have made a pact now that we are ready to move to Michigan. All I have to do is get employment. I was originally waiting for the economy to recover but we are tired of waiting. I am proceeding with my education to gain more certifications so that I can rise above the other 300+ applicants. The push is on. We are moving to Michigan! |
