You are probably right, but I'm hoping that will not be the case. I would like to see our system take this creep away from decent society forever.

I have always wondered in these types of cases if the children in the photos are identified and the parents notified of the abuse that has occured....if they could even identify the kids.

Does anyone know how that works?

Or if the parents know it is happening find them and bring them up on charges too. I know they can't all know it is happening, but some have to, and they deserve punishment for letting it occur.

Because of the stiff legal climate surrounding just the images themselves, this stuff is traded on underground, distributed networks. It's rare that you can even discover the country of origin.

With limiting legitimate viewers to a handful of law enforcers who's gonna id them. By making it illegal to even possess the images, no right-minded person is even gonna view them. Not even a journalist or independent researcher.

The best hope in this regard for the future is to provide a database of kiddie porn to the software research world and let them develop algorithms to scan photos and id the victims. But that also would require parents to regularly photo their kids and provide something to match with. And has privacy concerns and legal requirement issues.

I don't see how people can think that child pornography is sexy! They are truly sick! They need to be in an environment that they have no access to children or computers!

What is the deal with these creeps? I don't get it.

And do they think they can do this stuff and get away with it?

It's all over the news. I guess these morons think "They'll never find me." Disgusting.

Trying to stop the trade in child pornography would be like trying to stop illegal drugs by arresting users and pushers. With drugs, law enforcement targets the distributors because that is the only means that is even remotely effective. And that doesn't stop drugs, which have a definite physically defined distribution. Many of the child porn images most likely have been in circulation for many years making tracking almost impossible. And the distribution is much quicker and more efficient via the internet than actually physically moving drugs. Couple that with all the jurisdictions encompassed by that distribution, and even the best of the computer experts available would most likely only be able to track a miniscule amount to the original scource. And in the meantime, while they track down even one image, millions more copies can be distributed. All that the investigators can do is arrest the people in posession of these images.

The media won't publish even the name of a sexual assault victim. I doubt they would even consider a photo.

The question that get's asked when they discover the childs ID is; would you like the whole world to know that the neighbor molested your child? Someone is gonna see it and know it's Karen's little girl.

Yes, they do think they can "get away with it" and they do in most cases. This is taking place in a worldwide environment that also includes the sale of children in some parts of the world. Distributing the images is small potatoes compared with those selling children. It's quicker, easier, and safer than selling the children.

These complete monsters should be lined up and stoned to death. But they will instead get a FAIR trial on our tax dollar and be let free to hurt someones child again and again. Sick Ba^%$#@s! The victims sure aren't getting a fair deal. Laws need to be changed for these sickos to ensure our children are safe!

Well if he is related to a cop he will get off. I had known a person involved in the same crime and he got probation and his probation officcer never followed through with visits to his home. He hid his evidence with a neighbor and had a computer stashed in his house. The public dare not to reveal these people as the punishment to the law obiding public is no protection so it will go on and the courts will condone it.
