You couldn't get a job at McDonald's and become District Manager after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't become Chief of Surgery after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't get a job as a teacher and be the Superintendent after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't join the military and become a General after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't get a job as a reporter and become the Nightly News Anchor after 143 days of experience.

BUT....
'From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World .... 143 days.

We all have to start somewhere.

The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that's all it is - a start,
and strangely, a large sector of the American public is OK with this and campaigning for him.

We wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet many are OK with this for the President of the United States of America?

Come on folks, we're not voting for the next American Idol!

So, in eleven years of being an elected official, he only has 143 days of experience? Sounds strange to me, and I'm not an Obama fan.

from wikipedia: Obama worked as a community organizer and practiced as a civil rights attorney before serving in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004. He was elected to the (US) Senate in November 2004 with 70% of the vote.

Look, I don't have a problem with Obama-bashing, but at least get your facts straight first.

And I'm sure there aren't any lazy Republicans collecting welfare and all Replublicans return the social security checks, and not a single Replubican wants to get paid overtime, straight-time is good enough, and it's fine to work 6 or 7 days a week, whatever is best for the company because a persons time is only worth what their employer thinks it's worth...right

And not a signle Republican will eever give credit to President Clinton for leaving office with a balanced budget, not to mention a surplus, and anyone that wanted a job had a job, and it wasn't just a part-time, low-paying job either...Americans never had it so good, at least not in my life-time.

Maybe less experience in politics means less experience in lying, cheating, and stealing.

Seriously, I'm really sick of the same presidential bulls**t year after year.

This was before the DOT com bust and NAFTA took full effect.

History lesson. The Dot com explosion and subsequent growth in the economy was nothing but a big ponzi scheme. Companies with no sales and no net value had IPOs that made people billionaires...then everyone realized they had invested in a company with no sustainable future, and they sold their stock. 99.9% of the dot coms went bankrupt and left the financial landscape leaving investors broke. The Dot com artificial boom took place while Clinton and his SEC were in control.

NAFTA was another Clinton blunder. The effects were not felt until the first year of the Bush presidency...and it just keeps getting better for US labor jobs, doesn't it? <sarcasm>

Here are a few other things that went unfettered during Clinton's years: 911 attack planning, car bombing of the WTC and the Oaklahoma City Federal building, Saddam and his pals makign a mockery of the USA and the UN by continually thumbing his nose at UN sanctions, widespread corporate fraud ..best known cases include Enron, Global Crossings, Tyco, etc.

Clinton also pushed bills to allow people easy access to credit, worthy or not. He also made it easy for banks to go through rashes of mergers and acquisitions (personally I have one credit card that changed names 10 times during the 1990s). He also made it easier for banks and brokers to bundle bad debt and sell the junk paper to others for a quick turn of a buck or two. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were left holding the bag full of bad debt...corporate and personal debt. This all started during the Clinton era.

Yeah, everyone had a job, but the economy under Clinton was a house of cards that just kept getting taller. The dot com model of business with no paper value other than it's stock offering shouldn't have even been allowable. When was the last time you talked to a "Day Trader"? You know, the guy who quit his day job to trade dotcom stocks on e-trade? Nothing but a ponzi scheme.

I think if you took off your rosy colored Clinton glasses, you might actually see things for what they really were: a big Facade.

The balanced budget from Clintons years came at the expense of our national security.

Do more than WIKI your candidate. Try to find evidence of anything that Obama accomplished during his time as a community organizer, law professor, practicing lawyer, or state senator. You will have to look hard, because I have been looking and haven't found spit.

He also hasn't done anything as a US Senator except give some great sounding speeches to people ill equipped to check his facts (or even notice that there were none in his speech, other than jumping on the anti-bush bandwagon).

PS: I am going to fess up and tell you I am a headhunter. My job is to find qualified candidates for open jobs, then verify that their resume is factual. Verify that the actually did something quantifiable that might indicate that they would be successful in a new position working for a paying client.

I am here to tell you that just holding a job from 1997-2004 doesn't mean anything unless you can tell me what you did and how good you did it.

PS (yes another PS): Obama was elected with 70% of the vote because he was running against a hack of a worthless candidate that left the campaign in disgrace after a scandal. Obama for all intents and purposes, should have knocked down 95% of the vote, since the backup candidate came into the campaign late in the fourth quarter after the two minute warning. It was almost like running un-opposed, yet somehow loosing 30% of the votes to an unknown

Same here...what i am sick of is the Democrat/Liberal vs Republican/Right-Wimg BS. They are all equally bad in their own ways....

Another thing i am sick of is the term Commie...no such thing really - most "communist" countries are really totallitarion dictatorships as a whole that are corrupt from the top down.
