george Seville, OH	Reply » \| Report Abuse \| Judge it! \| #1 Oct 5, 2008 Judged: 2 1 why when someone dies they have to pay HUGE $$$$ for the death notice to published in the paper? seems to me that the paper would respect the dead and put the obits in for FREE. they write about all the criminals for free.

When my father died, his one day obit with his picture was over $400, but my mom wanted a "big" obit for dad, she felt she was honoring him. Still,$400 is crazy!

I think for financial reasons you have to put something in the newspaper in the classifieds for creditors or something like that.
