Praying for peace for Lori's family and friends, and for their children. No matter what the outcome and who was at fault, the children are the ones who suffer the most for the mistakes of their parents. May God be near to each of them and give them some measure of closure.

I'm confused as to why this ever went to trial, he confessed to the police right? he confessed to his brother right? So why why why did we have to try this case? And why only second degree murder? This is a very confusing case.

Hi rval2 I see your still being polled stupid, anyways justice has sorta been served I really think that he should have the same thing done to him that he did to his wife, but on the other hand maybe sitting in jail and thinking of what he will have to tell his children someday he will just take care of it himself. I do not feel sorry for him, but I feel sorry for the familys involved in this and the pain there going through

Actually, if you read the article it says first degree murder.

My thoughts and prayers with the family. now these kids have no parents.

He was found guilty of first degree murder, not second. Re-read and pay closer attention. Also there was a trial even though he admitted because everybody has the right to a trial by a jury of thier peers. It's his right to a trial if he wants one, confessed or not. So, to say that this is a confusing case is more of a confusing statement than the case is. The case is cut and dry, to sum it up: he had a trial because it is his right, he was found guilty of first degree murder, I dont see any confusion there.

thoughts and prayers to the family, and special prayers for the children, what confuses me is shouldn't that therapist be sharing the cell with this idiot? isn't there a law about sexual relations with a client?

It's so sad to think someone who was such a great person and helped out in the community has had something happen to him to make him think that this was the right thing to do. He was a great cop and he was a great dad. He never hid what he did, he took full responcibility, admitted what he did, if only all criminals would just admit they did instead of wasting weeks in court. I give him credit for confessing and not hiding, I do not agree what he did, I think it is a terrible thing. What a sad sad thing to happen, especially to her kids.

Murder never solves anyone's problems... I hope the message is loud and clear to others who may be thinking it is. Darn shame the way people deal with feelings and emotions by killing. Solved alot, didn't it?? Yeah, now he's got no worries but just to eat and sleep when the prison guards tell him to! We get to pay to house this idiot in prison now.... lucky us!!! I hope his kids want nothing to do with him now. That should make him think! Too bad he didn't think things through before he carried out the act of murder. I feel badly for the innocent children now without any parent at all but I don't feel bad for their "father" at all. He knew what he was doing and what the consequences were....

Ex-cop goes to prison for murder. He won't last a week before he's pounded into the concrete.
Justice will be served inside.

Are you serious? Maybe if only all criminals stopped committing crimes we would be getting somewhere---but to basically say that he is a "model criminal" is ridiculous. Just because he told the truth doesn't mean he did the right thing. His back was against the wall and he knew it. I can assure you that if he thought he could get away with it, he would have tried. Get a clue---this isn't said for him. He thought about doing this at least a year before he did it. He's not a victim but he created three of them, Lori and their two kids.

Because even if he confessed, he can plead not-guilty so it goes to trial. Then that gives his legal counsel time to try to prove him not-guilty somehow. Whether it be by insanity or self defense, etc. It's not all that confusing actually, you just don't know much about how it all works.

The best thing is - justice will be served over and over and over for the rest of his life.

Thoughts and prayers go out to Lori's family especially her children. RIP Lori!!!!!!

I agree about the prayers for Lori's family, but there is no "best thing" about it. He committed a horrible act, and robbed his kids and their mom. In my opinion, the best thing is that we could learn many things about this case: mental illness, taking the signs of abuse seriously and possibly about the power of forgiveness. My prayers go out to the families of Ken and Lori, and especially the kids.
