I believe it shows his ability to survive. Honestly think of the perspective he has. Nothing is a dead end to him, there's always hope.

He survived a horrible experience and instead of being bitter and asking why him and what is the government going to do to pay him back, he instead decided to serve those he fought and suffered for.

It may not have helped him necessarily with decision making, but I'm sure it helped him with an ability to really see what's important in life.

If they switched the ticket and put Palin on top I would sure as heck vote for her. Poor old McCain is pitiful and I couldn't help but notice how he looked at her with such GRATITUDE.

I didn't even watch the conventions. What's the point? I haven't changed my mind one bit. Too bad this poll didn't reflect that. Constitution Party for me this time and from here on in, unless I see something dramatically change in either of the two major Parties...

McCain will be the closest to a third party than the rest.But still get things done knowing the inside operations of congress.

Please explain what qualifications there are for Cmdr in Chief? Then explain to us where your choice has more experience. You're so scared about honorable service in the military, so use another measuring stick.

Are you trying to say that Obama has some great secret credentials for this office? List them out here. But every poster that can only come up with a negative for the other guy, must not know much about his own.

When I was 18 years old, I voted for a Republican. And after I'd served in it, did you know he got us out of a war that a democrat started. I'm pretty sure McCain was in that war too.

I have to agree, after the convention, I did manage to see who the real leader is. Obama. No side steping all of the errors and diasters of the past 8 years. Just a focus on what needs to be done to get this country back to where it should be. Out of republican hands!

Obama stated during the Saddleback Forums that he reached across the isles to the Repubs, and yet this was the ONLY time he attempted to do this, and ALSO, HE LATER BACKED OUT OF THAT VERY DEAL.

So, he lied, its like saying, I helped a poor child by giving him money, but later took it back because I (Flip-Floped). That is who your candidate is, the no voting, side-stepping, polotician he is. Yaknow throughout my life I have gotten in to political debates with you dems, and I always find holes in your arguments that you seemingly cant explain. Im not saying anyone party is perfect in terms of corruption because god knows there all bastards, but the very philosophy the democratic party goes by is a failed one, and does NOT WORK.

I have been thrown out of partys before because a democrat felt-belittled by me making them look stupid in front of guests (I didnt know she was throwing the party lol). You guys are too sensitive, and have a big problem admiting when your arguments dont make logical sense. I have talked to many members of my own family about these issues and they cant make any real arguments, they dont know WHAT there talking about and absolutely REFUSE to go in search of facts. They merely trust the talking-box sitting in front of them and judge the book by its cover.

When you get a real argument other than generalizations, please argue these facts, I do so encourage it. I would more than love to show you the light.

Let's go through this. The war in Iraq has cost us $575 BILLION so far. You don't think that hurts our economy? We borrow $3 billion/day from China, etc...to pay for this war. Also, make note of McCain's vote to continue tax subsidies for countries that ship our jobs overseas. Obama wants to stop tax subsidies to thos corporations and give tax breaks to companies that keep our jobs here in america. Also, what about McCain's full support of NAFTA/CAFTA? At least Obama wants to reform NAFTA and fully opposed CAFTA.

That's right, McCain has missed a whopping 63.8% of votes. He voted NO on reducing oil usage by 40% by 2025. Also, a week before McCain called Congress to come back and deal with the energy crisis, a vote took place on a vitally important bill which would have extended the investment tax credits for installing solar energy and the production tax credits for building wind turbines and other energy-efficienct systems. The problem is that McCain failed to show up for this vote. As a matter of fact, he failed to show up all 8 times that this bill was on the table in the past year. Both the wind and solar industries depend on these credits, which expire in December, to scale their businesses and become competitive with coal, oil and natural gas. Unlike offshore drilling, these credits could have an immediate impact on America’s energy profile. This is precisely the reason we are so addicted to fossil fuels. Renewable energy will never become financially competitive with oil and gas until the feds invest in it and incentivize its progression. It's hard for me to think McCain is really serious about alternative energy.
