That is what I just saw on there to. The media needs to learn how to report this information correctly. Another damn loophole. I am sure a lot of people are looking for the direct deposit and paid there tax fees out of the refund.

My cousin is dealing with the EXACT same thing. In fact, her ex didnt pay taxes on his business, then fled to FL after the divorce. Now her and her new husband have to pay her ex husbands back taxes even though her divorce papers say he is responsible. Its a crock. They took her tax return and now her stimulus. Do you think he is anywhere to be found so that she can sue him even? Not that she would get any money from him anyway, since he owns 13000 in back child support and owes almost every bank and concrete company in MI money.

I woke up today to find our's in our account! We got it on the date they said and we got the full amount the calculator said we would!

Hopefully you all that are having troubles with things can get them figured out, as I know this little bit of extra money will helping us out!!

I live in Indiana, but found this discussion interesting. I have been disabled for seven years, and i have two children (now a single parent). I found out I don't get this stimulus check...grrrrr. Back to scraping at the bottom. I hate hearing people complain that they are ONLY getting $600 or whatever. At least you are getting something. Be thankful for that.

We received our stimulus check today, on schedule, however quite a bit less than we were expecting, not really sure why, we should have gotten the whole amount, will check whenever I get off work.

Your check is an un-taxed income. You will have to report it on your taxes next year as an income. The accountant is correct.

how did you file?

Has anybody received their stiumlus check on time? Mine was supposed to be here last week but hasn't shown up. And the IRS Site doesn't have any sort of explanation.

Anybody have an idea what's going on?

Did you do direct deposit, with your income tax returns?

Here is a schedule in case some of you haven't seen it.

DIRECT DEPOSIT

Last two SSN digits: Payments will be transmitted no later than:
00 through 20 May 2
21 through 75 May 9
76 through 99 May 16




Paper checks will also go out based on Social Security number. For Social Security numbers ending in 00 through 09, the paper checks will be mailed starting May 9 and will continue through May 16. A similar process will be repeated in the following weeks.
PAPER CHECK

Last two SSN digits: Payments will be mailed no later than:
00 through 09 May 16
10 through 18 May 23
19 through 25 May 30
26 through 38 June 6
39 through 51 June 13
52 through 63 June 20
64 through 75 June 27
76 through 87 July 4
88 through 99 July 11

People who file a return after April 15 will receive their economic stimulus payment, but probably later than the schedule shows. A return must be filed by October 15 in order to receive a stimulus payment this year.

We received our check in the bank today, the date they said it would be there, but were shorted for our daughter. Our accountant told us in feb when we had our taxes done that since we claim her and she was 17 last year, we will get the $300 for her. We didnt, Im wondering why. Cant get ahold of the accountant or the IRS to ask why.
Im grateful for the money we did get, but when something is promised, and then not delivered, its kind of upsetting.

I recieved my Direct Deposit yet, and I fall under the by May 9th schedule..anyone else have this issue?

Did all of you who are looking for the direct deposit that is late pay your tax fees off your refund? It looks like this is the hold up on mine per the IRS web site. It indicates if you paid preparation fees out of your refund you will have to wait for the paper check. One SMALL detail the media missed.

I read it will have NO effect on your tax return next year. I believe it was on the IRS websites FAQ's section.

I feel for you and I would feel the same way. My husband is paralyzed, but luckily in a profession where he could return to work. We will be saving the money (which we received today in our account) for emergencies-which we know first hand can hit anyone and can be a financial disaster.
